We first traveled to the Lifestyle Holiday Resort in Puerta Plata, DR in January 2010 through our RCI time share.  On our second day, we took a tour of the facility and were so impressed we bought a 43 year lease that provides for any accommodations at the resort up to a six bedroom villa.  The cost of the lease was $63K They moved us into a three bedroom villa immediately and we really liked having a private pool, daily breakfast made to order and a Tremendous BBQ on our last day there.  It really was a great vacation but when I returned home I realized that I made a big financial mistake and contacted a lawyer to see if I could get out of the lease.  He told me that the only way I could try to get out of the lease was by hiring an attorney ito fight for me in the DR, which would be costly.

We then decided to make the best of our bad judgement and return to the resort in April 2011.  We received our confirmed reservation in May of 2010 (11 months ahead of our visit) for a six bedroom villa.  We our group checked in we were told they did not have a six bedroom villa available but we could have a four and two bedroom villas.  When we got to the villas we found that the two bedroom villa had air conditioning only in the bedrooms and the rest of the villa was hot.  For the most part we enjoyed our stay.

In July of 2010 we recieved a confirmed reservation for a three bedroom villa for February 2012 (seven months ahead of our visit).  Two days before our visit I recieved a call informing me that our confirmation will not be honored for the villa but we will get two junior suites because they overbooked!

What makes our situation so irratating is that we really enjoy the resort, but regret that we allowed ourselves to buy where they will not honor their confirmed reservations.
