Lifestyles Group, Inc. Home Improvement Grant -- check for 4960.00 to be deposited and send them 3,160 by Western Union New York New York
Sent a letter and check in the mail -- postmark is Canada and there is no return address on envelope. Letter states that you have a won a home improvement grant and that you need to call them to verify the check they sent for $4,960.00 and that you are going to get 35,850.00 more. When you call they want you to deposit the check in your checking account (which for some reason will clear at first but sometime within the next few weeks you will be responsible for the amount you took out by your bank) and take out $3,160.00 and send it to them by Western Union (for taxes and such) and then they will send you the $35,850.00. When I stated this was a fraud when I called and they told me to send money to them western union they hung up on me. They have Wal-Mart stores printed on the check under the authorized signature. They also tell you, that you won this by shopping at Walmart, Home Depot, Costco, Office Depot, Gap, Blockbuster, Best Buy etc. When you used your debit or credit card making a purchase at one of these stores. They also have 25 different companies logos represented on the back of their letter as follows: Money Gram International, Gap, McDonals, The Home Depot. Blockbuster, Sears, Walmart, Sunoco, Starbucks, Exxonmobile, Western Union, Best Buy, GE, Hitachi, Office Depot, Wendys, GM, Panasonic, Mad Al Distributors, Costco, Microsoft, IBM, A Greener Apple, ADM, Toshiba
Would have posibly have fallen for this if had not ran into a similar scam when I was selling puppies.
