Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On February 5th 2013 I bought a linksys ea3500.  I had issues right away with the product only working sometimes.  I called tech support on the 28th of february.  They "fixed" the problem by deactivation the "N" wireless option on the router.  Not being tech savy enough to realize what they had done life went on.  My internet was always slow though, i just lived with it.  I run a business from home and could not take it any longer.  I called my internet provider and double my bandwith from 15mbps to 30 mbps.  They came and installed a new modem/router.

I connected wirelessly to it and did a speed test verifying the speed at 33mbps.  Problem is since its there equipment they do not let you configure the router which i need to do in order to run my IP surveillance cameras. So i was forced to use my ea3500 with the modem.  the speed instantly dropped to 10mbps.  the internet provider said the problem was with linksys and i should call them.  i called them 3 times.  i spoke to 3 different supivisors and was conveniently disconnected on 3 times!!

I called back a fourth time and they told me not to worry they were working on it from their end and they would call me back.  In the following days with no call i got a buddy who is good at this stuff to come over.  It took him 3 seconds and he saw that they had changed the router to only bbroadcast in b & G and not N.  Just what i rememebr the guy saying in february...the n was unstable and a firmware update would fix it shortly (which of course never happebned). My friend said these companies do this all the time.  They stall as much as possible until they get us out of warranty and then try to push an extended service plan on us.

How would they fix it now if they couldnt fix it then??  The new firmware was never released. So i called them back to hear that my product is out of waranty even though they could verify that it was the same issue i was having back in february when it was brand new and under warranty they would not service or replace the unit bc it was now under warranty.  What a joke.  This is what I get for venturing away from netgear.  that company ALWAYS stood behind its product.  Stay away from Linksys at all costs!  it is a complete scam with subpar equipment.  Good luck and god bless.
