Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recieved a green postcard in the mail that said that I was eligible to recieve a $5,000 grant. I called the phone number listed on the card and a CSR spoke to me and said that I could use the grant for anything. I told them I had a credit card debt that needed to be paid off and they said that I was eligible. They told me that they would need to deduct $300 out of my checking account to pay for their services and they did after the next few days.

I then was given a confirmation number 23090. They then sent me a questionaire after a few weeks to let them know what grants I would be eligible for me and I filled it out. I then waited for up to six weeks after they recieved the questionaire in order for me to get my grant. I then recieved a piece of papaer stating all the grants I would be eligible for. The majority of grants listed I am already on or have used like Social Scurity and Housing.

I immediately called up Lions Gate Consulting and spoke to a CSR named Joeph who told me this, "I am sorry that one of our representatives told you that you could use the grant to pay off your credit card, no government grant can do that, except if you did debt consolidation". I was then furious and told him that I was lied to and that I wanted a refund back. He then said, "The only way for us to give you your money back and a refund is if you apply to atleast three grant sources listed and get denial letters from them".

Even though their representative lied to me, all that time wasted waiting for a grant to pay off my credit card, and he tells me that I cannot get a refund unless I apply and get denial letters. I already told him that the money was going to be used for paying off my credit card and the grants listed are not intended for that purpose and would be considered used for something I did not need.

My resolution for this company is for them to issue a refund immediately or I take them to court and sue. I will either sue in small claims court or take it to trial where I would be compensated $5,000 for the money that was promised to me, $300 for the service fee I paid out of my account, attorney and trial expenses, and pain and suffering.

Lions Gate Consulting Now Says that RipOff Report is under invesitagation

#2Author of original report

Sun, January 14, 2007

Lions Gate Consulting says in their report now that my complaint is unfounded and untrue and that all calls are monitored and recorded. I don't believe their charge, if every call was recorded then they would have recorded me calling in the next hour and telling them that I wanted to cancel and the agent telling me that I couldn't cancel even though it specifically says that I can and he said that "You are guaranteed to recieve atleast 5,000". Their is a court date set with them but will be by telphone with a judge. If they were such a legitimate company then why are so many complaints lodged against them including what is on the BBB website which says that they have an unsatisfactory record with them. They said ripoffreport.com is under investigation by the US district court for the Northern District of Illinois eastern division for removal of defamatory materials on their website. When the company sent me the final package to show me all the grants I was eligble for I was so happy at first thinking I would get a letter full of places where I could get free money to help pay off my credit card. Then I got the package and no new information was on it then one could not get at a local library or common sense bookstore. Listed were places like the social security office, plae to get food stamps, or where to apply for financial aid for school that one would already know or look at in a local bookstroe or by television. Then I tried going to the bank where they debited my money and guess what the bank told me, "The stamps on the front of the package you got in case you haven't noticed, the stamps are Canadian". I was very mad because I got ripped off and I knew it because the bank said they couldn't help me because the company diliberately dragged their feet on sending me the package and the deadline to report it has passed. Lions Gate Consulting deliberately debits cash from peoples checking account because there is a filing deadline for the bank, if they charged a person's credit card then a person can dispute it with their credit card compnany. This company is a TOTAL SCAM, don't trust them, I am fighting them in court now but save yourself the trouble and don't go through the same things I am.
