Complaint Review: Living Art Exotics Cattery - Illinois

I just want to know.

        I wish to make this short and sweet as i do not find it necessary to air my dirty laundry in the public view but it has been done by these crazy a** women who have done nothing but lie in these letters sinde they did not get what they sought from me; "Money". first off  the cat that the woman who wrote this tall tail is a self proclaimed financially troubled woman who cant afford the beautiful and sought after cats i produced and after she met me only through a ragdoll rescue my program performed did she show up to adopt one, which was free to a good home,

 they chose a cat that was not from my stock nor rearing, an adoption out of the kindness of my heart to save 14 cats from an unleathy environment, which came with colds and were being treated, recommended to wait they lived far away and begged to take him that night and were aware theyd need to medicate him. i was not a dr so did not find it correct to supply medicine with the chance she would improperly administer it.

i had her son exchange the first cat he chose after picking her out of 16 kittens all running in the house for four hours he wandered around not remembering one from another even though they were all different, so me and this woman sat for four hours and chatted about cats and my ideas of what could potentially be bred into other breeds to make a certain look and what the prices guessingly could run and she was so suprised and interested. this was a fake friendship she was creating to get into a false sense of making money since we are lucky to break even. i can care less if i make a profit.

       What i care about is the protection of my animals as they are my children and they are not tossed aside, i begged this family to return the kittens for a full refund and if not exchange them at least but they would not. in fact they didnt even pay their bill for the cats by two hundred dollars short. And the cat he returned for another is so perfect we have her sold to another breeder who has had offers of over $1600 for her. very amazing and sweet. They also would have noticed and not purchased two cats that day if they saw one ounce of something wrong. but they didnt and in four hours they looked at every cat, including adults, which no signs of any physical illness was seen.

so months went by and the lady callled around dec to start off the first conversation with screaming words such as coward and a*****e, etc. i thought she was drunk and had the wrong humber till she kept texting threats and untrue statements. I did my homework and after an animal is exposed to ringworm, it takes about ten to fourteen days for the animal to show the physical symptoms of the fungus, and it was stated in the letters sent to me that it was ten to fourteen days after my cats arrived to their new home that any animal showed any symptoms. This is a cut and dry self destructive statement to her story since it shows she brought the kittens home, they got exposed that day, and within the predicted time frame they developed the syptoms,

 it is an unfortunate thing this happened and i was worried about my pets, and upset she got them in this envirnment let alone blame me, but its easier to blame others since to take on responsibility would take a real person with guts and integrity. poor son had to have his mother write up his letters to me as if she were him since it was suppose to be his cat, and it was obviously her, now he looks like an a** just hurting his therapist job that baffles me since i believed he was a disabled child hence i was kind about them taking up way too much time deciding i even recommended they think about it, she tried to barter down a super discounted price and didnt pay it,

then she attacked a innocent program and embarrassed herself, very low class and obvious anger issues stemming from some hidden past trauma that i wouldnt want to hear about since i dont believe a word out of her mouth. She was uninformed about the treatment and information concerning ringworm, waited three months to say anything, she was the only one out of 16 kittens to come to me with any issue and i recieved several thank you letters.

        This program ended to not let my animals become vulnerable to witches like this, who cant keep their story straight by changing it every time i recieved a letter, but changing to a point it was so poorly written i didnt have to explain many of her lies as they were right there when comparing her letters demanding insane large sums of money. so I dont toss my animals aside i love them and have dissolved the program to the public since they are not to be used as amunintion against me, they mean too much.

i hope this woman gets the mental therapist that hopefully can help her work through these random misplaced attacks. also the last crrazy woman to chime in is a cold hearted back stabbinig embarrassment of a future breeder. she is the dirt i kick off my shoe at the steps before my door.  She believes barn cats are bobcats and will begin selling these barnyard and trailer raised sad examples of what she consideres the breed i work with. but in comparason in you own opinions the proof of the pictures will say everything  itself, she should be embarrassed and is just angry she lost a deposit and had me raise a cat for over a year before she attempted to claim it, then starts demanding it out of the blue,

with no patience and a  little wine she wrote some hate mail which caused me to second guess her ability to care for these animals as she clearly didnt understand the basics of breeding yet acts like her trailer dont stink, she is just mad she messed up otherwise Id have gladly extended the deposit time and sent her this cat, but she lied to my fafe and made us both look dumb infront of associate breeders and i hope she has some hidden winners around her rented trailer since she has three ugly barn cats ready to sell as cats that should be respected. shame on you lady.

If you received your kittens around 6-26-12.  I have documentation that joey was aware of the ringworm at that time.

As a fellow customers of Living Art Exotics and a fan of Joey Strubin, I must say how appalled I was in reading this "report." I myself have a Highland Lynx kitten from LAE, and I couldn't be more pleased with both my kitten AND the care, concern, and follow-up given freely by Joey well after kitty had more than settled in at my home.

My first question to the author is, had you done any sort of research on the lynx(both desert and highland) breed? They are HIGHLY agile, athletic, and active cats, not your lazy, sleep all day, Garfield impersonators. I also find it incredibly suspect that your 2 kittens were mean and aggressive. I took an entire morning and most of the afternoon playing with ALL the cats in the cattery(and may I mention that Joey was extremely hospitable, and treated me as if I were not a potential paycheck, but a friend visiting for the day), and NOT A SINGLE kitty showed even the slightest aggression. They were in fact just the opposite! I was greeted by all the little darlings with nuzzles and purrs. The girl I decided on is actually the first cutie to come to me(with no hesitation, she was in my arms seconds after crossing the threshold).

I have since then, had not a single health or behavior issue with my little princess. She is my pride and joy. I have even decided she is too perfect to keep to myself and that this world could do with a few more just like her. And can you possibly fathom who I contacted first? That's correct. A man I now call my friend, Joey Strubin. We are discussing different options as far as studs to mate my girl with.

All in all, 'Author,' I'm likened to believe that you may(as many are, no need to feel guilty) be a case if the uninformed animal buyer. Oh, I understand perfectly. You probably, like I, saw something on Animal Planet about rare and exotic breeds of cats and were spellbound by the beauty of these creatures. But the difference between you and I? I did my homework and found out as much as I could about the breed and TRULY evaluated my home, lifestyle, and temperament, and whether this type of kitten would fit in. Secondly, I didn't visit the cattery with idea that I absolutely would return home with a kitten that same day. You see, I've been surrounded by cats my entire life, and if there's one thing I've learned throughout the years it's this: whenever you think you've made a decision as far as a cat is concerned...think again! I didn't choose my little kitty that day in September. SHE CHOSE ME!!! If you had allowed some time for a relationship to develop there at the cattery, you might be singing a different tune today. But then again, maybe not. You know they say a person's true character can be revealed based on how babies and animals react to them. Maybe Joey's kittens know something we don't???

I have NOT heard from Joey since the last time he contacted me. I have made SEVERAL calls and texts and NO answer, response or pickup.

This man and cattery has SOLD me a sick (respiratory and mentally unstable) and infected (ringworm) kitten -- this has spread to my other dog's' and cat's'. This has even spread to me. NEVER would I have thought that a happy moment of purchasing a new pet would bring this much stress to me and harm to my other beloved pets.

He did not offer to offer costs of meds. (At one time, he said the he would order Clavamox -- and did not) He even said I could borrow his fogger machine to clear the ringworm spores in the air. (He did not!)

He basically ABANDON A CAT COMING FROM HIS CATTERY and FAILED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS CATTERY'S ENVIROMENT TO AFFECT MY HOME ENVIRONMENT AND THE PEOPLE AND ANIMALS IN MY HOME.

PLEASE DO NOT CONDUCT ANY BUSINESS OF PURCHASING A KITTEN/CAT FROM THIS MAN/CATTERY! HIS KITTENS/CATS ARE NOT SAFE.... THERE IS A RISK OF EXPOSURE TO DISEASE, ILLNESS AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE.

I am very disappointed in Living Art Exotic Cattery and Joey Strubin. Your a horrible person and you have no right to be breeding sick, mean and infected cats!

I am reliefed that Joey Strubin has begun to show interest is helping out the situation with the kittens/cats purchased from Living Art Exotics. He was very nice. Also, very apologetic. He showed a true interest to help and assist with getting solutions with treating the kittens/cats which the respirtatory cold and the ringworm.

He shared with me a personal narrative regarding the cattery --- which I believe he was telling the truth and being completely honest --- and showed great care to helping his kittens that I purchased from him.

I will actively be posting updates as this situation resolves.... Im sure at this rate, as long as things continue on a positive note..... Living Arts Cattery and Joey Strubin will gracefully redeem back their respect and full reputation as an Exotic Cat Breeder.

On a consumer note: I am a pet lover and I love my pets whole heartedly..... they are my children and as with any pet lover, I will fight for them and do anything and everything to give them the best of home and ensure them the best of health! This was an unfortunate circumstance, that could happen to anyone and ANY cattery, "how" the cattery behaviorally reponds is essential.

There seems to be light at the ends of this 'problem' tunnel! Crossing my fingers and praying for a positive finalized outcome.
