I have a good career advice for recent college grads in the Cleveland, Ohio area: Do Not Work For Loan Protector, Inc. in Solon!!!

That is unless you are confident that you can do the abnormal amount of work that they expect from the very beginning. This company's clients are insurance companies and banks, and the company verifies if home and business owners satisfy insurance criteria. I was let go from this company recently after only one week of work.

They expect that their trainees who are college graduates start with data entry and then try different lines of work after a few weeks. But the problem is that they even expect new people to enter 26 residential proofs within one hour, which is way too much unless you have done that kind of data entry before and had a chance to acquire speed in that kind of occupation. And if the speed of your typing is medium, not fast, you should especially stay away from that company.

On the interview, they don't show you the size of a residential document so you can at least see what you'll be dealing with. Not to mention the fact that they don't want you to have a lot of mistakes even at the beginning. Another problem is that residential documents from different companies are different, so you have to look carefully for information. And there are a lot of those companies.

I guess that they let me go because they thought that I was too slow. They could have given me a chance to improve. And I believe that I would have improved. I just needed more time. So this is just an advice. It's better not to go through the stressful experience that I went through with this company. So unless you can do an abnormal amount of work right from the beginning, my advice is that you avoid working for this company.

P.S. They only pay college grads $11.00 an hour. I don't care what Loan Protector would say to this message. There is absolutely no good excuse for their behavior. And yes, they do expect too much. Maybe they should employ robots.
