Chrissy... I can certainly see your point about driving with a medical condition that could render you unconscious, but our agreement ends there. Law enforcement officers are some of the very few people we entrust with our lives and our liberty. In return, we hold them to very high levels of professional conduct and scrutiny. it is certainly a good thing to have faith in your community's policemen, but that faith should never be unquestioning, regardless of how nice you may think them to be. Mistakes made by law enforcement officials are always serious, too serious to dismiss with comments about their good community standing. We don't know the particulars of the reporter's situation, but when such issues are raised they demand attention. Unshaking faith in the people who can rob you of your life, liberty and property is a very dangerous thing. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

I am a mother of two small children and we reside in Locust Grove, GA. I find it irresponsible for you to be driving with a medical condition that could cause you to kill any of us at any time. Locust Grove is a small enough community that everyone knows each other and we know our Police Officers. The behavior you described goes against everything they stand for and believe in. We trust this same Police Department to keep are community safe and we will back them up 100%. These same men and women that you are making these comments about are our Little League Coaches and our neighbors and everyone of them put their lives on the line daily to keep us (and even you) safe everyday. I think you owe the Locust Grove Police Department and the community an apology.
