When you first buy a car especially a used car you should have a mechanic check it out first. That way if you find any problems you can have them fix it first before you buy or just walk away from it.
I bought a used Windstar myself and looked it over. The body and enterior look pretty good but it is whats under the hood that matters to me. Well I found the timing chain cover leaking so I went back the next day to tell them about it.
I told them I wasnt signing any paper work until that was fixed. They fixed it and now the vehicle is O.K. California laws also protect us because the seller must smog the vehicle before selling it so you know you are not getting a gross polluter.
I had a smog pre - test done myself just in case. If it dont pass smog then you are looking for problems. Now to verify if the mileage was rolled back or maybe you but a salvaged car you can check a vehicles record at carfact.com and will give you a report by the vin#. As the repo is concerned, your husband should have called the bank to let them now about the late payment. All the sales man does is sell vehicles and thats it.
They dont do the financing it is the bank and they are going to want their money. I hope you learned a valuable lesson on doing your homework before shoping for a car and know your payment limits so this wont happen again
