Loveland Ski Patrol Loveland Ski Area OEC class exhorbitant costs before passing class Georgetown, Colorado
Loveland Ski Area has try out patrollers pay over $500 before they even pass the class. I was told I would pay $300 throughout the season. You also have to purchase your own supplies that cost over $130 before the end of the OEC class. What a rip off! This is obviously a scam tied in with St Anthony's hospital cental to make a buck off of aspiring patrollers. I passed the ski test with flying colors and the seasoned patrollers were very interested in my returning for the OEC class. When you also see the pushiness of some of the patrollers teaching class you know you are in for an uphill battle. The rest of my class didn't even take the ski test yet, and none of them looked as if they could pass it. This is obviously a money maker for Loveland and St Anthony's. With a tight knit group working in patrol at Loveland it would not matter how proficient you are - you won't get in. Also, they didn't even give anyone a chance to work financially with them. Stay away - a definite rip off report!!
