Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was on my way home on 11-1-05. About ten blocks from getting home I stopped at a red light (Lowry and Lyndale Ave. N.). It turned green so I started bicycling and immeditally after I got thur the light I heard a horn honk. I woundered to myself why is this person honking? Their was no oncomming traffic and I was riding in the gutter part of the street.

Next thing I knew I was pushed off of my bicycle by the box on a straight truck. The truck continued to drive away! I got on my bicycle and started chasing the truck with my bent rear rim and twisted handle bar and damages listed below.

When I caught up to the truck about 15 blocks later (thanks to constrution). I got the name off of the truck and the phone number. The driver and his helper was threating to beat me up while I did that.

I contacted the business "Low Cost Furniture" and was told to get them estimites on the damages. I spent about 3 hours doing that.

My bicycle had just been restored to new condition about 2 months prior so the damages were easy to see. It had severly sratched paint, a broken lock in pedel, two bent spokes on the front Mavic Cosmic rim, the rear wheel was warped (Mavric CXP33), and the rear bearings in the hub were messed up.

Heres the totals:

Part removal and reassembly 100.00

CXP Rim 69.95

Spokes 24.00

Wheel Labor 30.00

Bearings 17.10

WTP Clipless Pedals 79.95

Repainting 250.00

To this day I have recived NO retribution! Not even an appoligy. If anyone can help me out I would apprecate it alot.

I did not file a police report because I thought they would pay for damages.

Did you happen to file a police report on this? My uncle was hit by an unleashed dog a few years back on his bike. It cracked his helmet, road rash and did some serious damage to his bike. The owners of the dog were nice to him at first and said they will pay. After awhile of waiting for payment he realized that it was not going happen. It is illegal to have your dog unleashed by the way. So he filed a case at a small claims court. Some cases at small claims court are looked at by T.V. shows. Well it just so happened that he was offered to appear on Judge Judy. The show paid for him and the defendants to go out to L.A. and the nice thing is that the show pays for the judgement. So if you won, the show will pay you the amount that was owed. Just make sure you hold on to those receipts.
