Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was cold called by a rep from this company, telling me to check the website, www.protectyourmove.gov, to prove how great they were. I saw that they were a member of the BBB, insured, had a fleet of 9 trucks, and were oh, so nice on the phone. So I regretfully hired them.
Three guys showed up in a rented truck, saying a truck had broken down. Right away I was concerned because my things had to go to storage, and that would be more moving around. The foreman was unprofessional and way too personal, as I am a single woman. He did no work, and spent most of the next 10 hours outside in the truck, talking on the phone and smoking. But when it came to the paperwork, at the end, he was all business, as my original estimate of $5700 became $8884. When I questioned it, he said I had a lot of stuff. I was very upset, but felt I had no alternative but to give him the 50% due.
Toward the end of the packing, he started commanding the other two, to hurry up. They ran out of paper too. I asked how the were going to pack without paper. They said they'd use blankets. It was all lies.

My furniture spent 3 weeks in storage, and was finally delivered across country. After 6 phone calls, the company would even tell me when they were going to deliver, until I had my son in law call.
Four movers arrived, only one of them being from Low Country, the other three were local, from various companies. As they brought in my furniture, the three guys couldn't believe what they saw; Broken legs off my dining room table, dining room chair, a bench, a leg broken off a shelf, antique tea cart handle broken off; I was hysterical. The other three guys said it was the worst delivery they had ever seen, and they would be fired on the spot by their companies. They even went over to the guy from Low Country and questioned what kind of outfit he worked for. The guy from LC begged me not to report them to BBB, but I immediately did. As I continued to open boxes over the next couple of weeks, there was broken glass, broken wood, missing items, items thrown in boxes randomly, with no paper or padding, dents, chips, crushed items, well you get the picture. I took pictures of all the devastation and sent them with my claim to the Low Country Claim's dept. I also sent a set of pictures and a certified letter to the owner. The letter was returned a couple of week later, saying "unknown, cannot be forward." I haven't heard a thing from the Claim's dept. The BBB gave them a time frame in which to respond. They never did. I am ready to hire an attorney. This company needs to be taken down. They absolutely should NOT be in business.
