Through Billy.com, and online service referral company, I requested a moving company for Monday, October 21, 2013. I only needed a few items currently in a home to be moved into the basement apartment and a 20ft truck unloaded. Luxury Moving Specialists moving company contacted me, claiming to have exclusivity in this area for Billy.com. I checked with another company I found online, but chose the one who contacted me through Billy, since I felt that this service provider, like Angie.com, would vet vendors before placing them on your site.

Tim Sullivan , owner of Luxury Moving Specialists, seemed professional  brought a contract to my office, but was quite pushy to get a deposit of $175. He had quoted me $300 for the two hour service, but argued the contract was written $325, the extra being admin fees - never brought up in prior discussions. Since I was on a time constraint, I paid the deposit, went over the contract with him, signed it and continued my planning to coordinate movers in three states to relocate to a new home near my new job in Hendersonville, NC. I had coordinated a complicated move loading from my other two homes and was relying on Luxury Specialists to unload what I considered to be a small truck at my new home in Saluda, NC.HE NEVER SHOWED UP! Tim Sullivan is the owner and person with whom I had contact, but he not only failed he was dishonest.

As per our contract, which I attached, we agreed upon 3 workers and two hours of labor to unload a 20 ft moving truck. On Monday, October 21 they morning of the move, Mr. Sullivan called me at 7 am asking if I could “work with him on the time”. He was due at my new home in Saluda, NC, (15 minutes from Hendersonville, NC) at 9 am. With hesitation I agreed to give him until 10:30. At 11 am, I began attempting to contact him. After lunch, he returned my call only to say that it would be 1 pm. By this time, I had taken off a day of work, had a cleaning crew on the clock waiting for the truck to be unloaded, and I discover through stringent questioning that he is over 2 hours away in Winston-Salem, NC.  Mr. Sullivan did not have a moving crew, had no car to get to my home, and he continued to weave lies about his situation, leaving me hanging.

I finally had to call another group to help me move furniture and unload the truck, and I finished at 9 pm that evening. The cleaning crew cost me $60 and could do nothing because Mr. Sullivan understood that he had to move a few items from the home and place them into a basement apartment before I could unload the truck. I lost that money, too. So, the cleaners could not clean, I lost a day of work, and I returned to work exhausted and frustrated after finishing a scattered and hurried placement of my items in the house at 9 pm that night.

To add to the story, he will not return my deposit and now claims that he lives in Greensboro, NC and is not able to bring my deposit by my office as conveniently as he showed up to get it!  He is a fraud, a liar, and a thief. He had told me that he moved to Hendersonville, NC, one year ago to start this business - now he claims he lives in Greensboro?

Please remove him from your website as a vendor. I am contacting my attorney, turning him in to the Better Business Bureau and will pursue any other option that will put him out of business in our area and protect my community from people like him. This guy has come up with so many stories, that I cannot even keep up with them.

He claimed he would return my deposit asap when I finally reached him around 3 pm the day of the move (only to find he had no movers and was not even close to arriving - not going to arrive). Via text, I reminded him Monday, October 28 to return my deposit. He claimed it would be mailed to me on Friday. No check. He called me this morning (Monday, November 4) to inform me that I could go to a Western Union on Friday to get my refund. REALLY??? I have to chase my money now! No. I am done here. He even had the audacity to say that he wanted to work with me in the future. Are you kidding me?

If you need any further information, please contact me at my office or call me on my cell phone at 334-xxx-xxxx (((REDACTED))).  This complaint is not the first one on this company posted on RipOff Report.
