Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
First Tonya from california, I am in the same boat, but mine is 14 years ago, and what is this credit card stuff? The debt I have is 754.21 and I have never had at&t in my life. So I've had it.

If I were you I would block their calls, contact an attorney just for advise about harrasment. That is what I am doing here in Arizona.

I have just written a letter to the Resurgent, CC the BBB and Attorney General of SD, AK, not to mention Arizona Fraud Department(and will be contacting them as well) just like that other guy did, I am sure this has all happened before and people have done this but I am very angry, and believe 100% this is FRAUD.

So the smart .... that I am I started keeping time and will be billing them at the end of the month for all the time they have taken away from me. May sound silly, but for all this our time is presious and this is down right a Crime! I think everyone should do this.

If anyone out there can think of anything else, I am quite sure a few people are getting these ridiculous letters, from a company that is so fradulant it makes me sick. And I really hope people stick to there guns and DO NOT PAY these criminals.

Lisa, These lowlife morons you are dealing with are commonly referred to as JUNK DEBT BUYERS or PARASITES. Either way you have to deal with them harshly, or this will not go away. They buy these old, legally uncollectable debts for far less than a penny on the dollar as they are actually worthless as they are past the legal statute of limitations for collections. You are probably lucky enough to have the same, or similar name as the original debtor. These old debts have little or no documentation so these companies just contact everyone they can and hope for a bite. Don't be the one! You need to send a DEBT VALIDATION request to them as per the FDCPA. In this letter clearly dispute the debt and demand to see whatever you allegedly signed to create the debt, as well as a full account history and itemization of charges. Also demand proof that they legally own the debt including the sales contract and proof of payment, including the amount paid. Send this by certified mail, return reciept requested. Put the certified# on the letter itself and keep a copy for your records. This procedure is very important. If you do this, you will never hear from them again. Guaranteed.
