Maaco is a production shop and does quantity work. I have had many cars painted by Maaco shops in 3 different states and have good jobs done by them. You can get quite a decent job for the money you are paying. There will be some overspray to be cleaned up by your son. That happens at all shops. The comment by prior poster of a door costing a $1000 to paint is ridiculous and he has no idea of what he is talking about. The average person cannot afford a $4000 paint job and that is why we use Maaco and do a little cleanup on our own.I wish you and your son to have good luck with the MAaco paint job.

If you think you are getting a decent paint job for $1000, you are delusional. If you thought you could get a whole truck painted for $300, you are even more delusional. Repainting the whole vehicle would cost a minimum of $4000 at any reputable shop -- $1000 is what it costs to paint one door. Seriously, you'll be happier with a can of Rustoleum from Wal-mart applied with a paintbrush than a Maaco paint job. Those guys will get overspray everywhere, and they use the absolute cheapest paint you can find, so you can pretty much count on the paint job looking like dog crap in 6 months.
