This is the letter I sent with my returned mgicJack order!

I ordered magicJack because the TV ad claimed it was a 100% Risk Free 30 Day Free Trial". The first 7 minutes in the bottom left corner reads Get magicJack Free to Try for 30 Days. We won't charge you a penny. We'll Even Pay Postage to Return It, No Questions Asked.

Host Mel Arther, throughout the entire commercial says, "we will send you magicJack absolutely free to try for 30 days, we won't bill you a penny, and for any reason your not satisfied, send it back no questions asked and you owe nothing, in fact it's so risk free we'll even cover the postage to return it".

When I called the toll free # to order, it was completely automated with no option to talk to a real person. I ordered 1 magicJack but received 2. There was no return information or customer service contact in the package. My credit card was charged $46.90 before I even received the magicJacks.

I went to the website to find customer service which was really a live chat service who told me several times "the website clearly states that you have to pay for return shipping". After an hour trying to get contact information for magicJack, they finally took my phone # and said someone would call me the next day. I waited all day and No one called, or has called yet.

I do not even want to try a product from a company making false statements, proving their lack of integrity. I am returning both magicJacks after 3 days not 30 days. Enclosed is the RMA information you require, that I finally got from the chat service. I also have a Postal Tracking # as proof that you have received my return. My credit card company also required this tracking # to help me in case you still don't.

If you are at all concerned about your reputation you will get your act together. I have already made complaints to the FTC, BBB, and States Attorneys Office. If I don't get a full credit for $46.90 plus, the return shipping (written below), as I was promised, I will send copies of this letter to every National Medium possible. We the unsuspecting honest public are tired of SCAMS (Superficial Claims And Misleading Statements).

Please forward this letter to: Dan Borislow PhD magicJack Founder & CEO

Yes, you get what you pay for! I ordered 2 MJ units and received them within 3 days. I've installed both, one on a desktop and one on my laptop and they work great! Sure, they may be a bit choppy at times and may not be as clear as a traditional landline, but they are also hundreds of dollars less per year than standard landlines or cell phones! I'm amazed how many whiners there are out there! Perhaps the documentation isn't as complete as it should be, but I'd be willing to bet that the folks who complain the most are the ones who don't bother to read the instructions anyway. My compliments to the MagicJack developers and their staff. This is still a relatively new company and as the customer base grows, I'm sure improvements will follow. I bought my first cell phone in 1984 and the service was spotty and unreliable, but look at it now! For all you whiners and complainers out there, find a friend who knows a little bit more about computers than you do and have them give you a hand getting the product to work if you're having problems. For all the folks who are contemplating purchasing MagicJack -- Give it a try! For the $39 initial cost including a year of service, you won't be disappointed. Most of the problems with MagicJack are either related to your computer, a firewall, or your Internet Service Provider. The rest of the problems you may encounter could probably be resolved if you just read the instructions! Great Product -- I give it a 10!
