Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I brought my 20114 CX-9 in for a recall repair. I purchased this car as CPO 1 year ago in new condition. The car was returned to me the same day after the repair, with their "full circle service" review of the car, no issues with battery, brakes, tires, fluids. And of course, there shouldn't be, I have had the car a year - the next day the issues started. This caused me to have to return the car for followup to determine why my car was now making squeaking, creaking, clunking, and shuddering noises that it did not previously have. After the service department looked over my car they tried to tell me that now, oh so sorry, we didn't really mean your brakes are ok, we meant to tell you after a second look that you need new rotors and pads on the front. WHAT?!?! This car has 38,000 miles on it, has never had an issue, and now I was being fed a tail of lies about issues with my car. The service guy insisted that this damage was occuring before I brought my car in for the recall, that the prior service I had done on the brakes could have caused the problem. Um, ok so NO, I have NEVER had prior service on the brakes because the car is practically new and I have had no reason to service the brakes. The only thing I have had done to this car is oil changes at another Mazda location (a reputable one). After arguing with the service person about whether or no I needed brake work to fix issues that I am certain were the result of the recall repair, I told him to just do something to ensure that my car is no longer squeaking, shuddering, clunking and I will take care of the rest.

When I went to pick up the car he tried to tell me that there was a piece of metal that got under the rotor and cause a groove that was making the sqeaking noise and that it was quickly eroding my brakes, and that they cleaned it out and I could still expect shuddering when I drive. When I asked him to explain why I did not have this issue before I brought the car in and now I will have this issue, he really had no answer. Then my husband said, well how did the so called metal get in the rotor? He responded then that he never said that. Like he had amnesia. The lady standing next to us (also with a service issue), was like, yea you just said that, I was listening. And again he said no I never said there was metal in there. We were dumbfounded.

I rescued my car from the dealership and took it to my real mechanic who examined my car to reveal that no, I do not need new brake pads, or rotors, and no, my tires are not unbalanced and worn. I don't know what kind of scam operation this place is running over there but my warning to unsuspecting customers is - beware, and know your car. Do not let them "recommend" service unless you are sure it is needed. A nearly brand new car should have gone in and come out in the same condition. The worst part is that the guy at the front counter tripped over so many falsehoods about what damage might have happened to my car as a result of something I did, that he could not keep up with them. He told me that I should expect some braking issues until I had the car fixed. What issues? I did not have braking issues when I brought the car in to begin with. I am fairly certain that their mechanic did not replace all of the nuts or bolts and that the parts started to come apart after an hour of driving to the point of not being safe. It would have been better if he would have just said, we made a mistake, but instead, they did a cover up and tried to sell me service I didn't need and say that I did something to the car. And in the end, when we called him out on it, his response was - "well I am sorry you feel that way." I bet you are. All I got for this headache was a half a day of lost wages to get my car out of there and to my mechanic to have him look it over to make sure there was nothing wrong with the car.
