Maqbool Dada was sued in the Circuit Court for Balimore City for his professional failure at the Carey Business School. This case ended in a settlement agains Dada.
The Carey Business School is still not yet accredited, based in part due to the professional failure and negligence of Maqbool Dada. It is alleged that Maqbool Dada is a liability to the academic quality of the Carey Business School, in addition to being a financial liability to Carey Business School students and other stakeholders. It is alleged that students of the Carey Business School paid for the legal defence of Maqbool Dada, and the students did not provide such an authorization, nor were they ever duly notified of the lawsuit against Maqbool Dada. It is alleged that Maqbool Dada put innocent people at risk, based on his failure to abide by the laws of Maryland. Maqbool Dada plead GUILTY for failing to stop at a red light. Thankfully, nobody was injured; but Dada did fail to issue an apology to the Carey Business School students for his unlawful conduct, and the fact that this shameful act of disobedience came at the expense of the Carey Business School students.

Maqbool Dada earned his PhD in Operations Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins University in 2009, Dada served as Professor of Management at Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. He was also on the faculty of Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and University of Illinois at Chicago.
