I rented a desk from Marc in Dallas at the "Alliance Group" off LBJ freeway. It was one of my very first jobs after college and I learned a lot from Marc. 2% of it was very good such as building your own business, investing in your financial education, and residual income. The rest of his teachings, especially when he was NOT on stage were terrible role modeling at the least. He would pull new reps aside and recommend placing small ads in the newspaper (much like the one I responded to such as "Sports Minded, Like to Travel?, Looking for 5 People to run my business...etc). In those days, they would run the ads before sending a bill to a fake address. Then the process would repeat itself. Also for some reason the name of the company would show up differently on caller ID every couple of months and would have nothing to do with the Alliance Group. Odd. Probably another variation of the same scam. Equinox was still around in those days and in fact my "upline" showed me old checks from Equinox. The line was that they (Kale Flagg, Rich Von, Joe Dipietro, Accetta, another big hitter named Ray Pearson) left Bill Gould and Equinox because he was trying to sleep with their wives. Google "Rich Von assault" and see what pops up. In my very early 20's I was not savvy enough to see through the BS and dumped $2K of my parents money on a "business in a box" and would park cars on the weekends to pay for the $400/month desk and trainings. Fortunately My actual monetary loss was not very great, but my credibility was shot with family and friends for years. I could not do what Trek Alliance asked because frankly their products were of dubious quality and highly overpriced so I left after approximately six months. Last I heard Trek Alliance was shut down by the FTC for making false income claims. Marc A. is still in action, just wearing different clothes. His new business looks like a Tony Robbins-esque seminar program. It looks like he intends well and maybe he has changed.... or maybe not! The last time I flew out of Dallas I heard the couple behind me on the plane speaking of how pumped they were since they just came from a Marc Accetta seminar. They had sat next to another MLM'er and both tried to sell each other on their programs. One was vitamins, the other was a travel club. I did not mention to them my past experiences since they seemed so excited and maybe, not likely, but maybe they will be highly succesful. On the other hand, if Marc has become a changed person, I wish him and his family well. If not, sooner or later it will catch up to him and come crashing down most uncomfortably.

Just to clarify, I am NOT a member of World Ventures, but I was over a year ago after being recruited by Jefferson Santos. I left because to me network marketing is always the same old story, same old pitch, just a different company, different product. I have made very good money in MLM, but I also lost my @ss too! And I've seen others lose theirs as well. In fact, many years ago I got recruited and joined Equinox... Bill Gould's company. I have ZERO respect for Bill Gould as I saw more people lose their lives, money, wives, and friends due to their total belief in that d**n company. I also saw a lot of people make really good money. In fact, I personally know Dani Johnson, Marc Acetta, Tom Challan, and some of the others that were top money makers in Equinox. In all the time I have known Marc, he has been very helpful and motivating, but I also realize he has an ulterior motive... Make himself money. However, I have never seen him lie, cheat, or steal anything from anyone. As far as Bill Gould, well I would advise that you do some research on dear old Mr. Bill. He was banned from ever being part of another MLM and fined MILLIONS of dollars. If you got your info from him, I'll give you some friendly advice... Grad a brown paper bad, spit it out and flush your brain. Bill is a well-dressed thief and an a*****e if I say so myself. When I was introduced to him at a training event, he barely had time to shake my hand. I presume he had to get back to his PLASTIC wife or go count all the money he was making at each event. I do not condone or by into some of the stuff WV is doing because it is a spin off of Equinox, but I will say I am happy that they don't make you buy a ton of bs vitamins each month that you'll never use... Or worse, a bunch of water purifiers that you can't sell because they are so d**n overpriced. Good riddance Bill! Good riddance WV! In fact, good riddance MLM altogether.
