Mark Romine Southern Integrity scammed $500 deposit for floor tile never did work, numerous excuses, wouldn't return calls for refund Texas City Texas
Monday March 1, 2016 Hired Mark Romine through Thumbtack.com home improvement online site to replace floor tile. Mark was the first "contractor" to contact me immediately by text and phone call, came out same day to provide bid. Seemed knowledgable in floor tile, overly friendly, first class scam artist qualities. Measured area, had a huge book full of samples to choose from including grout samples, hand wrote a bid with a company name of "Southern Integrity",attentively schedule a start day then requested a deposit of $500 to schedule the job, but i reluctanly agreed to only $150.00 which he accepted a check for and cashed the very next morning at my credit union.
After choosing a floor tile he requested another $350 to purchase the tile and supplies which he again cashed immediately then the problems started with multiple excuses for not being able to start the work as scheduled, continuing to not return calls/texts to reschedule work. Finally he responded that he woudn't be able to do the work but would refund the money and again numerous excuses of being out of town, rescheduling days and times he would get in touch with me.
I then contacted Thumbtack for support which they were very understanding but were not successful as well at contacting Mark and basically told me they would suspend his account as inactive but would not be able to supply me with any personal contact or demographic information to further assist me in locating him but gave their apologies and wished me success.
Contacted the Pasadena PD to file a report and was informed that because it is a Civil dispute I would need to contact that office for assistance.
This has been such a frustrating ordeal from being unfortunate enough to getting involved with Mark Romine and getting scammed for $500 but I'm not giving up on tracking him down and hopefully preventing another innocent citizen from getting scammed by him, whether i get my money back or not, it"ll be worth the effort to seeing him held accountable .

I was also a victim of Mark Romine, I filed a police report and have kept up with his status with county records. Hopefully this is of some good news, he was arrested 11-10-2016 and he filed a bond (ironically for the amount that he ripped me off for). Not sure how he was caught but glad he has finally been picked up but glad justice has been done! If more of his victims would of reported this, he would of been charged for a felony instead of this misdemeanor.
