I find it very hard to believe that they would have not worked with you. What are your circumstances...?? I am sure that we could find the answers there!
I know that homeowners are always given 15 day notices to pay their dues and that if you contact Adept within those 15 days; they will work with you. After the 15 day notice has past...homeowners are then given an additional 15-30 days to pay. If you have not paid within that time...it is up to the BOD to send you to collections. It is not Adept's decision. They work on behalf of the BOD. Adept works for the BOD and they follow their directive. (If you knew anything about how Property Management works you would know this)
Did you ask for a 5 day extension and you were not accommodated? That would be because the BOD would not extend the courtesy; not Adept. Had you had any extensions before? Did you have an agreement with the BOD and did you default on that agreement? I am sure there is a reason they would not work with you.
Adept and Boards are not out to ruin anyone's lives. Perhaps you are not living within your means; or the economy has hurt your finances in some way...you must still pay your obligations right?...If you do not pay your mortgage, and you call the mortgage company and ask them for 5 more days to pay before they foreclose on your house...do you think they are going to give it to you?? What about your car...you will be given a few months TOPS before they come to repossess their property? What about your insurance, electric bill...other finances? They must still be paid...people often ruin their own lives by bad decision making and then love to lay the blame at everyone's feet but their own.
Do you think it is fair for others within the HOA to pay dues while you do not? Do you think it is fair for other homeowners dues to INCREASE because the HOA needs to make up for the money you are not paying in order to pay the HOA's bills?
