MASSAGE ENVY , Slave Shop DON'T WORK THERE OR GO THERE ARLINGTON Virginia
Hello. I was a former employee of massage envy in Arlington,VA. Don't not work for them if you are a massage therapist. They over work you and you have no benifits. You have to d**n near beg them to charge no shows or get paid for a no show. You would think a company who made over 90 million last year can afford to pay the employee what they deserve. As a MT you get paid the same amount reguardless of the massage which sucks. And people tip crappy because the services are so cheap. You have no benifits and their" insurance" is BS because it is pretty much is a discount plan. no co-pays or nothing. The manager was always talking about how much money they spent, money here, money there. But after saying that the manager spends 2,000+ on a water machine.(kagen) You can pay for that, but not give employees an incentive or a pay raise. Especially when we live in the DMV area. You can't live of off this job. You can do 50 massages in a pay period and only get paid $900+ (taxes). That is over working.
Massage Envy was late with our W-2's this year. They mailed it after the deadline and we didn't recieve them when we were supposed to. So they decided to email us our W-2(which is agaisnt the law). The fact that they didn't consider the about of identity theft and emal s not a protect way to send people SSn and address and how much they made.
Bottom line is Massage Envy is a horrible place to work and for the clients becareful signing up for the membership, because it is a hassle trying to get out of it.

A famous president named a FDR once said the first thing he would do is join a union. If you where in a union massage envy could not have done to you what they did. Vote for the free choice employee act and get in union. Its time people stand up for themselves. I am in a union and because I am we have no lay offs, no off the clock work and we have rights. Get involved do your part and organize!
