Matt Peterson I found a house for rent in the Surprise, AZ location. I called the number on the advertising and got a Matt Peterson. he stated all the home needs cleaning and a lot of TLC. he is willing to drop the rent cost if i chose to clean it. he gave me the lock box code i got in and thought it was def worth the chance. i later called him and asked for the next process. he emailed a lease and bank information. he asked that i add.14 cents to every rent payment i make so that he can make sure my rent goes to that specific home. it stated they only accent cash, money order and cashiers check. no personal checks. i contiuned investigating the verabge and found out it was a scam. the address belobngs to a restaurant in vegas. he claims there not a large enough company to own a store front so they work out of corprate office in vegas ( which is really a restaurant) the name on the lease is differ thenthe name on his voice mail. total scam! I am very happy i investigated everything before signing or sending any money to this man. Arizona be careful! this and others similar are huge scam artist preying on renters. do not send no cash! no money order and no cashier check! if your renting a home ask questions and ask to see the title or find a realestate company who will run the home background! I found a home for rent. I contacted the seller. his name was Matt Peterson from title and trust services. He stated this home is a short term lease unless I want the option to buy. He stated the home needs cleaning and possible repair. I asked if i can see the home. Matt gave me the address and a lock box number to get in and said to call him after i see the home. I walked through the house and it did indeed need a lot of work. i notified him he waived all fees and said first months rent would be enough and he can send over the lease. he emailed it to me and i started my investigation. i found that the name on his voice mail ( title and trust services ) was not found anywhere online . on the application i found the name ( inter- america inspecion service) i then investigated that name and found they are a scam company ripping off renters. I was very cautious from the beggining, however i wanted to see how far this would go and it went as far as requesting money- Matt asked that i send the money through a Wells Fargo account. I was aksed to deposit only cashier check, money order or CASH. no personal checks. i was asked to add .14 cents to every transaction so that he can verify my paymnet every month.
I carried on and acted very interested I asked if I can just come into his office and make my first payment. He stated they are not very popular in AZ and still in the growing process. He stated they have a corporate office in Las Vegas. I said great whats that address? Matt gave it to me. i looked that up and sure enough there it was finally something that is correct except it wasnt a office it was a restaurant.
This man, who ever he is, is scamming a lot of people. This isnt just one man and its not just in the state of Arizona I believe this is going on in a lot of states. I think the cent amount they are having you add to a transcation is there personal fun way of tracking all there transactions.
be cautious ask a lot of questions and you find one of these scams report it immeditely, this is the only way we can stop this from happening to others!!!! 2013-05-17
