Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Matt Watson is a self centered spammer who finds no problem at all spamming private sites with his bogus and imitation marketing. He seems to be stuck somehow in a dated age of spam marketing that is no longer effective or acceptable. I found hundreds of (horribly) duplicated articles throughout our entire network of sites. He doesn't even use a good spinner to replicate his pathetic spam.

I contacted him directly in an attempt to simply call him out in it and let him know he got caught and his link net reported.  I also mentioned (halfheartedly at the time) that the mass spam was not welcomed and that we would make his link spamming a public topic.  He responded by saying " I'm one of the most legitimate providers on all of Elance.  If someone is negative seoing me then I'd like to know what you are talking about so that I can prevent rather than talking about being a poser which is silly considering what I've accomplished.  Don't threaten me, think instead.  I have several hundred clients, so I don't give a give a crap about your personal network."

He says this when you can search the term:

Matt Watson SEO Guru

and find thousands of entries, many in Asian splog sites that he spams. So, obviously, his entire defense that he doesn't spam people is blatantly BS. I searched just now and found several spam articles he published in the last few hours.  All spun duplicates and destroying the sites they are spamming.  So, again, I called him out.

I told him he was a fake spamming jerk and reported his botnet to Google and was going to file a ripoff report. I let him know that if he weren't patting himself on the back so much then I wouldn't be pointing out the painfully obvious.

He responded with "Cut me a little slack that I fired back.  As far as patting myself on the back, I was creating legitimacy in your eyes so that you knew I was a real company with employees, an office, etc. I'm hardly a cheese ball on Elance, and if you did your homework you'd know that.  "

Having the most sales on a dump site known for spamming is nothing to brag about.  Especially when you are an "SEO Guru" and you actual main site is a pathetic and unfinished shell.  The main reason why he refuses to attempt to use his spam techniques on his own site is because Google would spank his butt for such obvious spam attacks.  Instead, he damages elance's reputation by spamming them with inbound, crap links (ones they are being made aware of as well).  If he were to use these same tactics for your business, Google will have you in the dumpster of the internet.

Bragging about how much money one has duped clients out of is not evidence of good work, only of a good haul.  Bernie Madoff took a grand haul from his victims, that didn't make him reputable.

In short, avoid any SEO who takes himself this seriously while refusing to own up to his disreputable methods.  He is a spammer, nothing more.  Too many legitimate companies get duped into giving money to these dinosaurs of marketing, and you shouldn't be his next victim.

It's sad enough that he pulled some of his scam sites to try and deny being the scam artist he so obviously is, but then inventing a fake account to type up a validating comment is just pathetic.

As for his assumption of me being a student, he is just redirecting from his obvious guilt of being a scam artist.

Bragging that you got yourself, not you clients, to rank #1 and #2 for keywords searched by almost no one outside of the marketing world, is beyond pathetic. But yeah, bragging about ranking for a term that no one searches beyond you is somehow impressive?

So, his argument, and then his drunken b******* with the fake account, amount to more proof of why he is a scam artist with no actual seo skills beyond making himself rank highly for a keyword no one cares about.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

I won't take a lot of time speaking to Darren Watson, the student or graduate living in the Vancouver Area who wrote this about me.  All I'm interested in is speaking directly to my existing and potential clients that are researching me and considering hiring my company.  I find it a shame that lible and slander is so easy on sites like RipOffReport and other similar sites.  RipOffReport makes these things permanent so aside from a rebuttal to this claim, there is nothing else I can do.

1. My earnings on Elance are objectively a good indicator that many, many businesses and site owners entrust my team and I to help them with their online marketing campaigns.  I'm not perfect, but 4.5 stars out of 5.0 means that 90% of my customers are very, very happy.  That is hardly indicative of someone who scams people.  I'm pretty sure I would have been "outed" long ago.

2. Negative SEO doesn't work.  Whatever company that decided to spew some garbage out there to create some sort of algorithmic penalty "negative seo" against me has bad info.  There I sit, #1 and #2 on Google for "local seo expert" and have been there for quite some time.  Again, if Google had any issues with my methodology I would have been wiped from the face of Google's index long ago.  Are there links that have no value?  Of course. Are there links that cause there to be penalties?  No.  If there was, Google would become a volatile blood bath, and Google knows they can't go there and exist as they currently do.

If you stumbled upon this report of me and would like to talk through it with me then let's schedule a call and we'll iron it out.
