On September 26, 2007 I contacted Melaleuca to close my account immediately. The Melaleuca representative advised me that I must send my request to close the account via "snail mail" to Melaleuca. And that I must order product in October.

I mailed Melaleuca to cancel the account. And placed my final order for which my credit card was charged.

On October 31, Melaleuca sent an unauthorized shipment. For which I am unwilling to pay. Melaleuca may issue a pick up notice and I will be happy to give UPS the box to take back to Melaleuca but I am not willing to pay to return unauthorized shipments.

Fortunately Melaleuca was not able to continue making unauthorized shipments because my credit card expired and I have not given them the new card number.

I had no complaints with their product, I just had enough product to last another year. I did not need anymore product.

In November, December and now January I have received emails and phone calls regarding this account. Each time I am advised that my letter was not received.

To date Melaleuca has received 2 letters and 2 faxes to cancel the account. To date they have ignored all communication regarding the account.

I might have returned as a customer had Melaleuca made it easy to cancel the account. Now I will never purchase their products again.

This is truly a ripoff.

Yes you have to write them a letter to cancel, so that it is legit and not some yahoo trying to cancel something you don't want canceled, if that was the case. All of this should have been explained to you by the person who signed you up for an account. You should have been bold enough to go back to the person who signed you up and ask them for help in canceling, I'm sure they would have been happy to help you. If you bought enough products to last you another year, then you bought way too much or you were not using it which is typical with a lot of people. The person who signed you up should have told you that you did not need that much and probably did if that was the case.
