The BBB serving Central California and Nevada is warning businesses about a consulting company called Ibusinessgrowth.com , Ptmarketinglabs.com , and Focusedphysicaltherapy.com run by Melissa Gerdes and Greg Gerdes of Washoe Valley Nevada . The company has an F rating by the Las Vegas NV, BBB.
These Companies targets small and medium sized Physical Therapy companies and claims to be able to improve the companies bottom line after a thorough evaluation of their financial practices and accounting systems.
A contractual agreement is drawn up regarding specific services covered at an agreed upon price.
These services include additional charges for each consultant required to complete the tasks along with all travel and lodging expenses for each consultant.
One victim told the BBB that they were left with the impression they would be responsible for the expenses of two consultants and were charged for an unexpected third consultant as well.
The company has had a total of 113 complaints in the last 36 months, with 104 of those complaints regarding sales practice issues.
On April 22, 2009, Nevada Attorney General filed a lawsuit against Focused Physical Therapy and it owners Melissa Gerdes and Greg Gerdes.
The suit alleges that the defendants use wide-ranging deceptive practices to ensnare hundreds of small business clients into consulting service contracts that fail to fulfill the defendants promises to boost their clients bottom lines. Focused Physical Therapy asked for consultation fees ranging from $8000 to $26,000 with no refund policy and have bilked Millions of dollars from prospective clients.
The suit also names as defendants: International Tax Advisors, Inc., Integrated Business Analysis, Inc., and Accountancy Associates, LLC, all based in Las Vegas NV. Burgess is the majority owner of all of the defendant companies.
