Memphis Shelby County Juvenile Court Child Support - Memphis Shelby County Government - Juvenile Court - Child Support - Peter Michael McDowel I Called about not receiving support for over a year and they did nothing to find ex-husband Memphis Tennessee
I pursued an action against my ex-husband when he stopped sending his court ordered child support to me. For about 9 months he paid to the Shelby County Juvenile Court the amount owed and sometimes less than due. After I stopped receiving my payments via Debit Card June 2008, I called and asked them what was going on with my case, they asked me if I wanted to request an "action" against him, of course I said yes. They sent out process servers to his home and said he did not answer the door so they gave up. When his employer first received orders to withhold child support from his paycheck he magically stopped working there, he is a painter by trade and I know they pay "under the table". All they have to do is run his Social Security number to see if he has skipped town, which I have a feeling he has since he owes my son/me over $20,000 since 1998. I am disabled and trying to get my benefits for my total disability which is a challenge to say the least since I cannot work any longer, and I don't need the Shelby County Juvenile Court to drop the ball on the payments needed to support my son. I feel they should be held accountable for not following up on cases that fall through the cracks. At first they where all over it, when he did not show up for our court case they did nothing, when they couldn't locate him they did nothing, now that I have not received a penney for over a year they still have done nothing, if there is an issued child support order shouldn't they pursue it until it is resolved? I shouldn't have to call and continue to request an "action" against him since one was issued when they first issued it. His name is Peter Michael McDowell he is 6'2" and weighs about 140, date of birth 6/12/1957, he has greying hair and a receeding hairline and wears a baseall cap most of the time, he only works as a painter but was a bartender when I met him in 1990 in LaGrange Illinois, he may have returned to Illinois. He is probably not using his social security number and is working for cash under the table so he does not get caught, he is a drinker, he always drinks beer and he is also a smoker, sometimes he has a mustache and beard, close cut. He drives a beat up old blue pick up truck its a mess, you cannot miss it coming down the road, it has antique license plates on it, it should have pease of Sh*! on it. Please if you are having problems with the Shelby County Juvenile Court with child support payments, don't give up. There is hope somewhere.
