MENS EDGE MEDICAL (MEM) UNDER INVESTIGATION BY MULTIPLE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

Mens Edge Medical is believed to be under investigation by multiple Federal and State agencies including The Texas Medical Board, The Texas Office of Attorney General, The Texas Governors office, The Texas Department of State Health Services, The United States Department of Health and Human Services (Responsible for enforcement of FDA rules and laws), and possibly others.  According to Lajuana Crossland, Sr. Investigator with The Texas Medical Board, the TMB launched an investigation of Mens Edge Medical for widely expressed concerns as early as November 2012.  The subject of these investigations have not been disclosed and the status is unknown, but it is believed that these investigations are focused on some or all of the following violations and abuses:

Ms. Crossland and other TMB personnel have requested names of victims that have been harmed by Men Edge Medical, as well as, witnesses to assist in the investigation and needed legal action.  If you or anyone you know has been injured or adversely affected by this group, you and they are urged to report this immediately to Ms. Crossland @ 936-294-0620 or Sabrina Johnston @ [email protected].

You may also file a personal, formal complaint with the TMB @:  www.tmb.state.tx.us/consumers/complain/placecomp.php or The Consumer Complaint Hotline: Phone: 1-800-201-9353 (Toll-free in Texas only).   For links to other state agencies responsible for public safety, refer to the end of this report.

It is feared by some in the North Texas greater community that the states extreme pro-business attitude has and will continue to result with many agencies and bureaucrats protecting this and other perpetrators at
the expense of public safety, especially those agencies run by doctors who have a long-standing tradition of professional courtesy, all-the-while subjecting Texas Tax Payers to potentially unnecessary risk.  Some citizens fear that these agencies will continuously enter into a never-ending string of quid-pro-quo agreements, that exchange meaningless cease-and-desist in return for needless forgive-and-forget.   All of the people involved in the Mens Edge Medical enterprise are competent adults that should, and be reasonably expected, to know better, especially having some training and experience in the medical field.  Concerned citizens believe that such agreements are not a viable solution in this case where there is a repeated pattern of deception and fraud.

For a full report of widespread concerns that could be the subject of the investigation can be seen at: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/health-and-medical-general/mens-edge-medical-center-in-dallas-tx-90115064 and http://www.ripoffreport.com/excel-performance-db/clinics/dallas-texas-561a2.htm.

Mens Edge Medical is headquartered at 5550 LBJ Frwy, #360, Dallas, TX 75240.  Tel: 972-996-0900,
fax: 972-996-0905. Website: (mensedgemedical.com).  They have recently opened offices in Las Vegas (6380 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89103 Phone: 702-331-7077) and Kansas City (5401 College Blvd Suite 203, Leawood, KS 66211 Phone: 913- 553-4616).

Mens Edge Medical is owned by Charlotte Burns, who is the part-time mastermind of the Mens Edge Medical enterprise and its operational standards.  She is also a part-time, substitute ophthalmologist at various clinics in the Dallas area.  Raul Garza is the full-time Office Manager and commission-compensated Sales Manager.  Garza works in close collaboration with Burns to develop and implement schemes to maximize sales and profits, in coordination with the sales team.  This business is one in which culprits are able to hide and thrive due to self-imposed confidentiality and fears by customers.

Unfortunately and contrary to conventional wisdom, where commerce is involved, consumers cannot rely on government to voluntarily protect us from perpetrators.  Agencies are increasingly infiltrated by third-world mentalities which perpetuate and foster third-world business tactics. We must rely on self-protection and our untied voices to collectively rid our society of these scourges.  Your local BBB is a good resource to research and protect your self: ("Medical quackery and the promotions of nostrums and worthless drugs were among the most prominent abuses which led to the establishment of formal self-regulation in business and, in
turn, to the creation of the NBBB- see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Business_Bureau).

Dec. 6th, 2013:  The Texas Medical Board (TMB) finds Men’s Edge Medical Center (MEM) guilty of wrong doing.  Dr. Crider enters Remedial Plan agreement (reg.tmb.state.tx.us/OnLineVerif/Phys_ReportVerif_new.asp), (Document- public.tmb.state.tx.us/WebDocuments/StreamView.aspx).

Action Date:  12/06/2013

Description:  ON DECEMBER 6, 2013, THE BOARD AND JULIUS PAUL CRIDER, M.D., ENTERED INTO A NON-DISCIPLINARY REMEDIAL PLAN THAT REQUIRES DR. CRIDER WITHIN ONE YEAR COMPLETE THE MEDICAL JURISPRUDENCE EXAM WITHIN THREE ATTEMPTS, AND, WITHIN 60 DAYS, PAY AN ADMINISTRATIVE FEE OF $500 PER YEAR. THE BOARD FOUND DR. CRIDER MIXED DOSES OF INJECTABLE SOLUTIONS IN HIS OFFICE FOR INITIAL TESTING OF PATIENTS. THE PATIENTS PAID DR. CRIDER DIRECTLY FOR THE COST OF THE MEDICATION THAT WAS DISPENSED BY DR. CRIDER. DR. CRIDER DOES NOT ADMIT OR DENY THE FINDINGS BUT AGREED TO THE REMEDIAL PLAN TO AVOID THE COST AND UNCERTAINTY OF LITIGATION.

This unequivocally shows that MEM is guilty of wrong doing.  However, the law holds the doctor, whose license is being used for operations, accountable.    In this case, the evil sources behind the crimes are the doctor owner, doctor expansion partners and the office manager, none of which have been held accountable.   The TMB was provided details, including names and dates, of many occurrences of wrong doing, and easily provable.  This limited and questionable remedial plan shows the incompetence of the TMB and that Texas continues to be the “Ripoff Capital of the World”, and is not actively protecting the health, welfare and safety of the citizens it was created to protect.

Unfortunately, the remedial plan that gives the impression of consequences well into the future was terminated: Action Date:  02/06/2014 Description:  ON FEBRUARY 6, 2014, REMEDIAL PLAN TERMINATED DUE TO COMPLETION OF ALL REQUIREMENTS.  This shows that the indiscernible remedial plan is just a smoking mirror and another example of how Texas’ agencies are more interested in protecting businesses, in this case doctors, rather than the public.  This is appalling and unacceptable in a civilized society!
