 My daughter and I were in LA in July 2013 for an acting competition. This "Group" wasn't invited to participate but they got around it by having a representative of another agency there who referred anyone and everyone who would listen to her. TJ (Trent James) and Kevin James were very flattering and very professional appearing and said all the right things to rope in a teenager and her mother. We signed a contract for one year automatically renewable unless cancelled in writing. TIP-OFFS: there was no name of the company on the contract. There was no phone number listed. There was no address of the company. Only our signatures.

They then told us my daughter would need new head shots and photos for Comm cards to the tune of $1100. They could not begin looking for work for her without them, and they (and we) could not get them until they were paid for in full, which was done in August. We have yet to hear from them regarding work. We have still not received the disc of photos. I have tried calling Kevin James a number of times to no avail. New Entertainment Today, who had no problems taking the money from my credit card, never returned my phone calls.

They, BTW, are located in Arkansas. Therefore, we can assume that this group is a scam, illegitimate, and thieves. Until proven elsewise. I have notified the competition about them because they are gearing up for this year's event. I don't want anyone else to be suckered in by these Bastards. One other thing - I called the credit card company for help. They said that I had 30 days from the date of the second transaction to file a claim. Considering most places ask for 4-6 weeks or 6-8 weeks to process things and get them sent out, there was inadequate time to file a claim. Buyer Beware.

In my report of 5/19/2014, the main information and complaint still stand. However, the company involved is NOT MGM Talent. The company with whom I have a complaint goes by "The Managemment Group." It is owned by TJ and Kevin James. The confusion came about when we were sent to see The Management Group. They were borrowing space from MGM and the company name on the name badge given to us by Security in the building said MGM, understandable because MGM is the lessee of the space.

I have attempted to contact Kevin James, as well as New Entertainment Today (another of TJ's businesses, located in [I believe] Kansas or Arkansas) in the past 3 weeks to get either the disc of my daughter's photos or the money paid refunded and have received no answer. The credit card company told me it was way past the time in which they could have helped. The Management Group and New Entertainment Today are less than honorable companies.

My sincerest apologies to everyone at MGM Talent in LA. They most certainly are NOT connected with the aforementioned companies at all.
