Michael Wright tried to sell me a 1999 Chev. Suburban for $3600 (free shipping) Etna, California
My husband and I were shopping for S.U.Vs on Craigs list. We spotted a sharp looking 1999 Chevrolet Suburban for $3,600 located in Charleston, W.VA.
Says it was fully loaded and in mint condition. So, we emailed him. We got no response. So, we checked out Craigs list again the next day. The vehicle was no where to be found.
A couple days later, we thought we'd check it out again. What do you know...same vehicle, same pics, different listing and from Athens, OH this time.
So...we emailed him. This time it was a quick reply. Said he had moved to Cali( for his job) and would ship the vehicle via shipping comp. he had won free shipping from.
Said we had 5 days to check out vehicle before he would get payment. Had to go through eBay Motors VPP and use a middle man.
eBay sent emails giving us transaction case ID# and specific instructions on how to do money gram, a guys name in Florida to send it to, and said we needed to email a confirmation number to eBay motors from the money gram.
Then we receive an email from Michael telling us to tell the money gram people we're sending the money to a friend/family member because of extra charges to the both of us.
Luckily, my husband asked around work and they told him to check into it further. So, I did a car fax. There is a 1999 Chev Suburban with the vin# he gave us but it's currently in Wisconsin.
So, then I decided to Google his name and got an actor and writer. I went a little further and Googled his email and it brought me here!
Thank goodness for Google! He will be waiting until hell freezes over to get our hard earned money.

I was in the same situation as you were. Today I almost made the mistake of sending this guy the money for the exact same suburban. He was selling it on craigslist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. But thanks to ripoff reports, your story and my gut I did not fall victim to this theif.
