 We were solicited by phone stating that we won a food processor and wanted us to review air purifiers from Michigan Indoor Technologies. A salesman, Jason Haney, came to our house on 5/23/13 to do an in-home demonstration of the air purifiers and their vacuum. The 45 minute appointment turned into 2 hours. The equipment sounded great. Jason said it would help my migraines, but after running the purifiers all night, I woke up with a migraine. My home smelled like burnt skin! I tried running the vacuum and could not push it unless I used both hands. I called them the next day (10:05am) and spoke with Craig, the manager, to cancel the contract. We were given 72 hours to cancel. Our salesman stopped by the house that evening and my daughter told him we were cancelling the contract. He just ignored her. I called Jason to tell him the same thing and he called me back on 5/25. He said he would be back out on 5/28 or 5/29(the last day of cancellation) to pick up their equipment and bring our trade-in vacuum and air purifier back to us. He never showed up and we never spoke with him again, despite leaving messages on his cell phone. We were going to give him the signed cancellation form when he came to do the exchange. Since that never happened, it was too late to mail it in. I finally called the office on 5/31 and talked to a receptionist. She said someone would call me back, but they did not. I called again 3 hours later, and still no return call.

I called 3 hrs. later again and still no one called back. Two hours later (at 6:33pm) when I called again, I was told Keith (one of the owners) was gone for the day and Lorraine ( receptionist) said she would have Keith call me back Saturday, 6/1. She also said that April Mason was in charge of Keith and she was out of the office until Monday and that she was the one to take care of it. I did not hear from Keith on 6/1, so I again called the office at 1:43pm. He said the loan had already gone through and asked why my husband okayed the loan. He was very arrogant on the phone. No one ever called us to verify the loan like Keith said they did! We called the office less than 24 hrs. after the purchase and no one every called us after that. We signed the cancellation, but did not mail it in because Jason Haney was going to return our property and pick up their equipment before the deadline and he did not show. None of the times I spoke with the employees made mention of mailing the cancellation notice back until I spoke with Keith on 6/1. I spoke with the finance company (Aqua Finance) on 6/3 and they said they don't always verify the loans with the customer. I spoke with April at Michigan Indoor Technologies after that and she said the finance company always called to confirm loans. She would talk to her employees and call me back - and did not! I called back on 6/6 And April said that Craig and Jason denied the fact that we cancelled our contract. They said they never spoke with us until 5/31! What a bunch of lying, cheating SOBs. We are now stuck with air purifiers that make me sick literally and a vacuum I cannot push! The finance company said their hands were tied and could do nothing further. The only thing left is to get an attorney to fight this or throw out the equipment! I will never deal with these people again. Will try to get filters directly from Filtropur (vacuum maker). If not, in the garbage they go. DO NOT GET SCAMMED LIKE WE DID!! It was a very hard lesson to learn. I have never met such arrogant, lying, cheating people before this!

I am writing this letter concerning my purchase of your Filtropur sanitizing filtration system. It is a remarkable system. It filters the air and makes it really easy for breathing especially when I have COPD. It purifies the air and makes it feel like you are breathing outside air close to a clean lake with a real nice breeze. I am very happy that I purchased this system. I recommend this to anyone with difficulty with breathing

Also my cat has breathing problems, I spend over $100 month on meds, and is doing amazing. She is not having allergic reactions to the stuff in the air any more. My vet called to have some one from this company come out to home, and he bought them for his home and vet hospital.

I love these machines and these people.

When some one purchases our equipment in there home, they have 3-days buyers’ right to cancel. Those days are Monday-Friday. We do not count Saturday or Sunday.

 

You purchased this on Thursday May 23, 2013; you had until Tuesday May 28, 2013 at Midnight.

 

On Friday May 24, 2013 our associate Jason brought out the remaining items that you needed. At no time did he receive the cancellation papers that are on two different pages, you only received 3.

 

On Tuesday May 28, 2013 our finance company called and spoke to your husband that was on the contract, to verify that all the information was correct. He agreed with them it was, He also agreed that you had the equipment and understood when the payments were do ect. You are correct that the finance company says they do not verify all contracts, but we require the finance company to verify with ALL customers. So that way we are protected and our customers are protected.

 

Mary, I was out of town for two weeks to help by own mom in Florida, when I got back in town, I did call you back On June 10, 2013  and ask you why you did not mail the notice of cancellation in, or brought the machines back to our office. You said that you did not know people really had to do that, and you thought that you could return them after you used them in your pet groomers shop for a while.  You did mail the notice in on June 10, 2013 which was after the 3-day cancellation policy.

 

I asked you if I could have a service tech or my self come out to your home to see about this smell or to re-educate you on how to use these machines. We set up a time for Saturday June 15, 2013 at 11am. You told me that you had a lot of dogs to groom that day, and it was going to me a mess. I explained to you that I have 4 dogs and it would not bother me. On Saturday right before I was to leave you called and told me not to bother and you would not answerer the door. I asked to reset another appointment up with you and I could have some one from another office come, you are a customer we want these machines to work properly and for you to know how to work them properly. You swore at me told me that you were going to tell every one I was a bad person and hung up.

 

Mary, you are a customer and we are still willing to come and make sure every thing is working properly. We are sorry that you are upset. But, we have the 3-day cancellation policy for a reason, we can not have people using these machines for a month or for however long and just return them. Same reason that a lot of dress shops do not let people return there dresses. Because to many people were trying to return dresses after they wore them to a dance, prom or even wedding.

 

I hope every thing is going for you and your family but, please calls us if there is any thing we can do.
