Midas TBC Corporation merchants big-o tires NTB 80% markup & double the labor Raleigh, NC Nationwide
A mgr. named Chris In Raleigh, NC cultivated a business relationship with my son over several months.
Mostly small repairs that he had the choice to go elsewhere if the price wasn't acceptable.
On Friday, January 15th 2016, he lost his brakes and called AAA for a tow.
He had the vehicle towed to 3621 Capital blvd. where Chris took advantage of him. A less than $500 brake job ended up costing over a $1,000.
I have a copy of the estimate and have never paid anywhere near this amount at any of their other businesses. Like Merchants in Cary who has records of all the repairs they did fairly on this truck.
I drove the vehicle from 2000 to 2008 and logged over 350,000 miles as an independent contractor.
I signed it over to him in 2014 when he turned 25.
On his own now, he doesn't make the best decisions.
They advertise, brake services at one price and then up-sell as much as they can. And prey on the un-informed.
Clearly, the manager took advantage of him with an 80% markup on parts and double the labor.
I paid the bill because my son doesn't have the money or credit ability to pay having just bought his first home in December. I also paid it - so I have the right to complain and tell others.
I was not surprised to see Midas has no BBB accredidation in NC. They think that gives them a license to steal, it doesn't.
I'm actively pursuing a Social Media campaign against Midas and TBC Corporation.
You cheated my son and me when I paid the bill
Sooner or later I'll find someone willing to stop their predatory practices.
