""So i want to know where do i go from here besides going to the court date. Can I fight this sue please help"" You MUST fight this in court now. If you ignore the summons and do not attend court to present a defense they will be awarded a default judgment against you. Once they have the judgment, they may then request enforcement orders if you do not pay the judgment in a reasonable amount of time. Enforcement orders may include any/all of the following: garnish wages lien against real property lien against property of value; automobile, boat, rv, etc. levy against bank accounts levy against state income tax refunds report unsatisfied judgment to credit reporting agencies;judgments are listed more than 7 years. Also, the statute of limitation for a money judgment is usually much longer than for other debts. Here in NY State, the SOL for a money judgment is 20 years and it can be RENEWED for another 20 years. Consult with an attorney. Good luck.
