Midland Credit Management still being harrassed over false 10 year old debt Oaks Pennsylvania
I have been receiving mail at my mothers address for a debt that I did not incur. The original debt was from Fingerhut Credit Advantage which I have not ordered from since 1992.
I contacted Midland once I received this statement alleging that I ove $1500 from ten years ago. The representative which whom I spoke told me that it is my responsibility to prove this is not my debt.
I have no way of knowing who's debt this is. The shipping address the merchandise was shipped to, was an address I had lived at 4 years earleir. I told them I am not aware who was living there at the time but it wasn't me.
When asked if they had a social security number from when the items were ordered, they did not. That was not required at the time therefore they assume because the magazine shipped in my name, the merchandise ordered was mine.
After my original order from Fingerhut, I refused to ever order anything else from them due to poor quality. I guess you get what you pay for.
Midland is still trying to collect on this debt and is destroying my credit.
