The mortgage company we first closed with sold our mortgage with Midland Mortgage. I lost my job and got behind and Midland Mortgage called and said that if we agree to pay $932 for three months as a probation period and our money situation did not change they can work with us. So we paid what they wanted and after three months we contacted Midland Mortgage and they gave us four choices to choose from. 1. to continue paying $932 for the remaining of the 30 yrs, 2. $918 to extend our contract for 2 extra years, 3. $900 to extend 4 extra years, or 4 $890 to extend 5 extra years.

According to Midland we were behind about $7000 and we put it on paper and for $7000 we were to pay Midland Mortgage back an EXTRA $35,000. We were trying to get MIdland to carry our amount that we were behind in back of the mortgage and pay our regular $770 a month or give them a sum of $3000 just to catch up on the amount we were behind and they did not go for that. All they said is we can only choose from the 4 options they have given us. We did not think that was fair. Our only choice and it was hard to do was to go bankrupt.

Midland Mortgage destroyed our dream of owning our home. The people who work for Midland Mortgage think they are specialist but the only thing they are is RUDE and most of all they make you feel like you are not worthy. People makes mistakes and our mistake is to deal with Midland Mortgage. We have lost alot of time and money. Now I have uproot my family and find a rental that would accamodate our life style. And I have at least 2 months to do this. Thanks for the AMERICAN DREAM, Midland Mortgage

A love note for Julie and Tom, defenders of the downtrodden mortgage servicers, cheapening this site with your bull!

Tom and Julie, Ah, you are both a breath of fresh air. You are proof positive that job security exists in America today and that anyone who loses a job is surely a deadbeat. After all, YOU will never lose a job in spite of bad economies and possible terrorist attacks, YOU are both immune to misfortune. Neither of you will ever become ill, YOU will never be hit by a fire, hurricane or tornado or have any family member who becomes ill, requiring your care. Both of you are "perfect people" with "perfect lives". Good for you. In spite of the fact that many of the people have tried to correct their arrearage that were caused by bad luck or elements beyond their control, you two think it is just wonderful for the servicers to bend them over and "service" them without benefit of lubricant. You think it is just dandy that mortgage companies gouge people who are already down on their luck. This attitude is epidemic among servicers...we are all deadbeats and do not pay our mortgages because we "choose" not to. Obviously, all borrowers are secretly sitting on huge piles of money that we just decide not to send to mortgage companies. My new mantra is this...BAIL!!! Gabrielle, do not pay one cent of extortionate fees. Sell the house or tell Midland to take it and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. Those fees are what keep the criminals in business. DO NOT let them have them. They will be out of business in a matter of months if people would just stop trying to beat them at their own game. Just refuse to play with them! Walk away and when these companies become glutted with homes that they cannot sell, they are history. No one in America needs to develop an attachment to their homes from now on. Greedy mortgage servicers and lending companies want them more than you do...after they have bankrupted borrowers. And ruined their credit. JUST SAY NO!! Once the games begin, you will NEVER get ahead or even catch up again. Refuse to do business with them, period! Put a$$holes like Tom and Julie out of a job by refusing to play the game. Let's see how long it takes for them to be filing Rip-off Reports about how their mortgage holder refuses to work with them. Both of you, Julie and Tom, are self-righteous pompous jerks without a compassionate bone in your bodies. While you may live your "perfect" lives on this plane and lord it over the rest of we lower beings, there is always balance in the universe. You will get your corrections, now or later. I pity both of you. You are sad and arrogant to think it could never happen to you. When it does, you will both be ill-equipped to deal with it. Too bad.

My name is Tom and i am a state licened mortgage broker. I dont work for any particular lender. This site is intended for people who get ripped off. Not for companies. I myself consider myself to be an amatuer consumer advocate -and am always leaning towards the consumer every time. However, the original author lost his job -it happens to the best of us -and his lender not only forgave him but GAVE HIM 4 CHOICES to choose from?????? Wow, what a lender. Since the consumer would have to pay interest over 30 years on the 7k he owes (thus the alleged 35k) he says 'no way' and goes banko instead???? Holy s**t ungratefull dude. So when u lose your job and DEFAULT ON YOUR MORTGAGE -if the lender doesnt bend over for good terms that YOU APPROVE OF -hes 'jacking you around'?????? Man, im reaching for the bottle. My insulted brain needs to be quelled or im going to hang myself. Since when are YOU entitled to ANY deal when u default -let alone 4 OPTIONS. Not only is Julie right- she was pretty darn caring and polite about her views. Better than i am u *&*#$%^%$# IDIOT. You dont deserve to own a house. You are not grown up enough. Its obvious by your 'logic'. Stop cheapening this site for those who have real complaints and have been ripped off.

Julie I dun't no why you are not with us on theis? Why are you trying to proutect the lender? That lender is there just to make muney, and when you have a hardships and git behind on paymunts they don't care! All they wunt to do unce you git behind on payments, is collect the money you owe them!! I know when I owned my own gas station and peopole bought gas from my store and then were not able to pay because maybe they lost they job and just didn't have any money, I would tell them that is ok, just pay me when you can. Sure, I went out of business and now live in my late Uncle Melvin's abandoned lake cabin, but so what? It was worth it, I helpeds a lots of peoples!! Why can't lenders do that. If you can't pay them, they should let you go ahead and miss payments anytime you really have a hardship where you can't pay. Also I have a problem with car loans too. If you can't pay a car loan for a while that shoulds be fines. If after a while you can't pays and you lost your jobs and really can't afford the payment, they should just forgive the loans. Why do they have to repossess your car? If I had my own car loan business and someone wasn't able to pay me back I would say that was fine. So julie dun't you go on ina post any more messages please!! The rest of us'n agree, if you can't afford your house, the lender should really just git to you, they make enough muneey already!! Sure it might cause a collapse of our free enterprisse system America has in place, but who cares!! No matter what happens in life weather you kaused the problem or nots, there should never be any consequences to your actions. Right everyone?

Ms. Julie is at it again! Next you'll be defending some other business that is over run by stinking money grubbers.

It's very strange how your name pops up in all these posts regarding predatory loan servicing. The self appointed defender of the poor mortgage servicing companys is everywhere. You just want the true to be know by all. Yeh right! Next you'll be defending some other business that is over run by stinking money grubbers. It's not their fault that they are greedy scum bags.... their just misunderstood scum bags. The wicked mortgage n**i is busted. But don't worry my dear you'll be back on your knees in no time.

I never thought my mortgage company should pick up the slack.

Thanks for the update?? I do not work for Midland Mortgage. Thanks for asking. I have lost a job before. But I never thought my mortgage company should pick up the slack. I have never lost a house because when I lost my job or income, I had the good sense to downsize immediately. It sucked. I had a wonderful home, good schools, safe neighborhood and city. I had to give it up and scale down to what I considered the ghetto. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I did what I could and was able to completely salvage my credit in the process. I am sure you make more than me. Good for you! Just place the blame where blame is due, on the job loss, not on the mortgage company, or did the mortgage company cause you to lose your job? Then your complaint might be legit....

And to you julie from guthrie, oklahoma I may even make more money than you will ever make, knows when mortgage companies or any other company do things to rip-off hard working people like me. thank you

You have got to be kidding. Midland didn't ruin your American Dream

#8Consumer Suggestion

Thanks to Midland for your American Dream? Hello, wake up and smell the coffee. YOU got behind, they gave you 4 PAYMENT OPTIONS and you are mad at them? Take some responsibility here, they didn't cause you to get behind, YOUR JOB LOSS DID. Place blame where blame is due. Perhaps you should consider living under your means for awhile and building up some savings so that in the event of another job loss, you would have some cash to pay your bills. I don't mean to be so callous but the fact remains that Midland didn't ruin your American Dream, you did when you lost your job.
