Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have tried many times to get the founder of this rescue organization to provide some sort of proof of 501C3 non-profit status. No proof has been forthcoming. She continues to Fundraise and her website clearly states she is running a non-profit organization. She takes in multiple dogs with no placement in mind and drops them off at unsuspecting foster homes. Because of the way she treats foster home families, she has burned many bridges and can't find anyone to foster for her anymore. The dogs are not screened nor are their temperaments tested prior to placing them in a foster home. She is very lax in adoption placement. In fact, very recently a rescue dog bit a new owner and another killed family pets. Several dogs have died or been injured in her care.

It is highly suggested that you do not donate to this Rescue unless she can provide some sort of proof on where the money is going. It might be best to donate directly to the Veterinary office where each dog is to be treated. Do not adopt a dog from her unless you know for sure the temperament has been evaluated and that the dog has been Vetted.

It is also suggested that you do not foster for them unless you have a written agreement that she will provide food, medical care and other exenses for her animals as promised. You may also want to have a response time, in writing, for her to communicate with you as a foster as she tends to "forget" about you and leave dogs in the foster care until you practically beg to have her find them homes.

This Rescue is too quick to pull and place animals and charges a very high "adoption" fee but can not or will not provide 501C3 proof of non-profit status. Stay away!

While I respect what you are saying, Jennifer, and value your opinion, I would love to know the EIN of Missions 501C3. They are NOT listed on any list of non-profits. At the time of this original  report they were using someone elses number without permission. While I may agree that this Rescue has maybe cleaned up their act a litttle since the incidents reported, that does not take away from the fact that these things DID happen and were heartbreaking to many people involved. I know of a total of four puppies who died under their care with adoptive parents devastated. So, while I am very happy to hear of your good experience..it does nothing for the bad expereinces of many others. All I can hope for is more help for the Weimaraner breed and really, truly do value that you had something good to say about them. But, I really would check on that Tax deduction...I honestly do NOT think they are non-profit eligible. If you have a number for me to check, I would more than welcome it. I also no longer see her claims to non-profit on either her website or her facebook page.

I am completely surprised to read this compliant. I rescued my Weimaraner from Janet at MWR and in the years since, become a bit involved in her rescue efforts. My experiences are completely contrary to this rip off report. My home was well screened prior to the rescue. The dog was exactly as described (and now my best buddy ever!) My experiences fostering have been all above board: time of fostering exactly as agreed upon, veterinary hospital did not charge me for any treatment as there was already an agreement with Janet. Donations gone directly to where promised. Non-profit status was confirmed when we rescued, for my donation write-off. This woman works tirelessly to help animals in need, and has centered her life around these dogs. I feel I have to defend such a champion of dogs against this baseless accusation.

It has now come to light that Janet Taylor and her husband Benjamin have filed Bankruptcy in the wake of millions of dollars of judgments against them in Civil Court. Ms. Taylor has claimed in open BK court that she has nothing to do with Mission Weimaraner Rescue. All of this while still having dogs in her care through the Mission "Weimaraner" Rescue name STILL claiming to be a Non-Profit entity using the EIN number for Mission "Animal" Rescue. This EIN number was revoked and has not been valid for a couple years..and never belonged to her Organization to begin with.

The prior lawsuits and judgments against Janet Taylor and the pending bankruptcy should give an indication of her integrity.  She has raised thousands of dollars in the past on her RESCUE website through Fundraisers. Where did the money go?? Is this money "acccounted for" with the IRS?

This is all public record and can be found at the Central Justice Center Website.
