Money Tree Mortgage took $300 out of my checking acct unauthorized ripoff to consumers Woodstock Georgia
I put in a request for a mortgage over the internet. I was approved. Call was made to my home on a Friday and I was told that for $300 we could get started. I gave my checking account info over the phone. At no time was I told of the interest rate. Loan papers came to my Mother's computer the following Monday and at that time I see almost 10% interest rate was going to be charged. In this short time, Money Tree took the $300 out of my account. I called them, faxed them, advised them I didn't want this loan. I never authorized anything in writing to secure this loan. This was done on 6/22/03 and they won't return my $300. Anyone else have a problem with them?

I too along with hundreds of others have been scammed by Money Tree. I have written several rebuttles commenting on this discusting fraud. Please read this web and you will find that everyone was prety much told the same thing. Now, it doesn't due you any good to try and call them because they don't answer the phones. I have contacted Det. King from the Woodstock Police Dept, and they are investigating them. I was also told they have contacted the FBI to investigate also. I would call Det King and let him know you too are a victim. The more the merrier. The Kansas office was shut down, and from some of the reports I've read on this site, people are starting to get some legal action. Money Tree appears on several different categories in this site. Mortgages, Loans, Credit etc. Just read some of the other reports. From my understanding, it is a matter of time before the Law and Gov't get all the evidence together to bring them down. Hope you have better luck with them that I have had. Keep us Money Tree victims updated will Ya? Best to search the name alone and not by the category.
