MoneyKey Stole $400 in upfront payments for a $3,000 loan which I never received and they refuse to refund the $ I paid. Internet
I recently applied for a personal loan online thru MoneyKey. They called saying I was approved, but I needed to put $135 on a Greendot Money Pak and call them with the MoneyPak #. I did, then they said I had to get another one for $265 for insurance. I did. They then called and said I owed on an old payday loan I never opened and had to pay them first or they would make me lose my job, benefits, and get arrested! They refused to refund all the money I had paid them since they would not do the loan. This seemed iffy that they wanted so much money upfront, even though they promised it would be returned to my account along with the loan.
This company is a FRAUD! I asked to speak to a supervisor and of course he was one. I asked to speak to his superior and the representative refused. I asked for their corporate address and was refused.
Watch out for this company!

You were scammed twice by the same people. There is no loan. There never was going to be a loan. it is a scammer just tapping you for upfront money on a fake loan.
Go to FTC.gov and look up consumer scams. The particular one you were taken by is called the Advance Fee Loan scam and it works just like you described. The scammer keeps having you pay fees until you either catch on or until you run out of money and ask for your funds back.
Report the scammer to the police and to the FTC. Just for your informtion, it isn't legal for a lender to charge you an upfront fee for a consumer loan in the US. Anyone that asks you to send funds through an untraceable method like a Greendot card is a scammer.
