Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I had hired this company in May 2009 to modify my first and second mortgage.  The results for both modifications were poor at best.  I only got an interest reduction of 1 percent for the first with NO principle reduction and after 3.5 months, no response from the bank on the second.  I called this company to get a refund on not getting any results on the second and one of the employees named Jeff said we know you have been calling in for a while for a refund and we will get it to you.  A few days later, they called me and said they got a modification on the second, which again had NO principle reduction and modified the interest rate only three points.  I then told them again I wanted a refund, on which they refused.  They said that being they got a modification of some type, although not a good one, they owe me nothing and they would close the file.  After waiting three and a half months for some word on modifying the second mortgage and once I asked for a refund for no results from the bank, they somehow coincidentally a few days later got a small interest modification done so they would not have to refund any money back.  In a nutshell, they gamed the system.  BE WARNED:  ONCE YOU PAY THEM THEIR FEES, YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK.  IN THEIR MINDS, ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS MAKE THE SMALLEST MODIFICATION  TO YOUR LOAN, AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY DID THEIR JOB AND THAT IS ALL THEY CAN DO FOR YOU AND NOT GIVE YOU ANY REFUND AT ALL.  I am currently filing a lawsuit in smalll claims court for gaming the system and will contact the Arizona attourney general to shut this company down for good.  STAY AWAY FROM MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE GROUP!!!

Official Mortgage Assistance Group Rebuttal

#2REBUTTAL Individual responds

Fri, June 24, 2011

We are writing this official rebuttal to clarify the mission and actions of MortgageAssistance Group and its employees. We have been aware of the claims and mischaracterizations about our company and we were advised through counsel to not respond or give validity to the postings on RipoffReport.com.

Let us start off with our background and experience in the Loan ModificationIndustry. We were one of the local Pioneers of this industry back in 2007 when Home Loan Delinquencies skyrocketed in the Phoenix area. Mortgage Assistance Group has a mission to alleviate the financial burdens mortgage borrowers have undertaken during the greatest economic meltdown our nation has ever witnessed since the Great Depression.

To date, MAG has managed to follow this mission effectively and ethically. Over 300 families have been saved from foreclosure and/or experienced a drastic reduction in their mortgage payments due to the dedicated efforts of the organization. That accounts to millions of dollars in monthly mortgage payments savings and even more in local community housing burdens such as vandalism, increased taxes and the further devaluation of neighborhood values.

Due to the services we provided to the community, we earned a reputation of being one of the good guys which was doing its best to do the right thing. Before the Slander defamation issue, we had only four complaints within two years of being in business.

Unfortunately, many bad companies gained national attention and notoriety for their unscrupulous business practices. The disgruntled employees in question decided to use this fear associated with the industry and use it to destroy our credibility. They created blogs of lies and mischaracterizations about our company and its executives. Then they contacted some of our clients directly to cause panic and destroy the rapport our clients had with our organization.

This created an unforeseen chain of events which led us to downsize our company due to our Merchant Provider First Data freeze our account without warning or provocation from their
corporate office.  At the time, Merchant companies were receiving a lot of chargebacks from fraudulent companies within our industry and this led them to put any Loan Modification company nationwide into their high risk category.

MAG is formally apologizing to those who were negatively affected by these unfortunate events.

Throughout this entire debacle, MAG has handled each and every complaint and concern on a case by case basis. Some employees chose the unfortunate route to create stories about what really happened at a time when things were easily pushed out of control. Expressing opinions about what occurred or what should have occurred was ill-effective and has only led to more confusion rather than a productive positive outcome.

The company is formally requesting that any and all lingering issues, if any at all, be immediately brought to the attention of MAG directly so that they may be resolved. Let it be known that public defamation can and does have some recourse when and if a company decides to gather evidence and pursue a legal case.

As we move forward, we will be posting character references from past and current employees. We will also be providing you true actual testimonials from our clients and will give you a true view of our company and what we have accomplished for so many hard working families in need.

If you have any questions or concerns we ask that you do not get misled by these claims and you take the time to contact us in writing. We will address your complaints immediately
while we continue to pursue a mutually beneficial conclusion to your case and many of the complaints received by our organization came after the credibility and companys brand name had been tarnished.

We have created a website at www.magtruth.com where you can see all the evidence to support our claims. They will show you the truth behind our company and its commitment to the community and you may view some of our testimonials on www.magclients.com.

If you have any complaint about your service or our company we urge you to contact us directly. Even though these claims can be misleading, you can still be held accountable for placing something else on this blog that hurts the image of our company and is not correct.

YOU are complaining about GETTING  a loan modification. That is BS! How about my neighbor who hired a company and DID NOT get a loan modification. I think you are just a mad at the world bitter old man! Get over it! You got what you paid for....you got a loan modification, you got to keep your home unlike my neighbor who does not have a home. You are bitter and angry and you are blaming EVERYONE else.....LOOK IN THE MIRROR....that ia the person to blame. YOU GOT A LOAN MODIFICATION AND YOU GOT TO KEEP YOUR HOME!   what ia the real issue?  I know you have a small .... and you what to blame everyone else for your misfortune. STAY IN YOUR HOME that is what you want! Right?

I know there are alot of Loan Mod companies that are scams but Mortgage Assistance Group IS NOT.  I happen to be an employee of MAG and know first hand how much we have and continue to help our clients.  We have a 92 percent sucess rate.  Pretty good I'd say.  Even if you dont get exactly the amount reduction you were hoping for we still have put in hours after hours on your file.  Like everything else in the world, nothing is for free so a refund just wouldnt make sence.  We have an A+ rating with the BBB and I think that says alot more than one unhappy person.  There are always going to be customers of any company that are unhappy, or didnt exactly get the outcome they wanted.  We dont guarantee a certain number or certain dollar amount for your reduction but we try our hardest.  Ultimatley the final decision is not up to us, it is up to the lender YOU go through.    I and others in our office work long hard hours and weekends fighting for our clients to save their homes. The places they raise their children and mean the most to them. We spend countless hours on EVERY file.  We get screamed at by lenders daily that dont want to modify payments. To us at MAG its not just about the money or what WE gain.  We form relationships with our clients.  The stories are heartbreaking and almost every employee is going through the same thing in their personal lives with their own homes.  We know how our clients feel.  We want to help and as hard as it is to beleive, MAG is an honest Loan mod company!  I am a proud employee.

I was considering this very company to modify my mortgage. I said to myself let me take a look at what's on Rip off to see if anyone has any complaints. Actually after reading this rip off report it makes me feel more confident in the company's ability. I mean they got you three points off and a reduction and you are complaining? From my research I would think that the bank would dictate through the goverment programs what and how much of a reduction you get. Then you said they modified your second just to not refund you. Isn't your objection a modification? Mine is. If they can get me three points off my first and some type of mod on my second I will be happy. It seems to me your upset because you didn't get a principal reduction. Umm news flash those are far and inbetween. Any company that guarantees that is full of it. We are all upside down on are mortgage. The bank is not in the business of giving away free money. I did hear there are ways to make them budge on that issue. You have to have ammo though. Like issues in the contract. Anyway I am going to continue to research or maybe I will give these guys a shot. This is an example of someone wanting a handout. YOu got a lower mortgage so go pay it.

In addition to the very valid point made by Derek, I would  question just how a reduction in principle would occur. THAT REALLY indicates  totally unreasonable

expectations on your part.  Why would ANY financial entity just surreptitiously forgive a portion of a loan?

Are you serious? so let me understand so I get the facts straight. You didn't pay a mortgage for 4 months while they worked on the Mod? They saved you 1% on your first. They saved 3% on the second. And now you want your money back?????? really? I guess thats like asking a plumber to install a water system, and because it took him a little longer, you want your money back! What does a plumber do, removes your water system and your back to square one. If your SO unhappy, GIVE BACK YOUR LOAN MOD!Pay that EXTRA 1% & 3%..... You hired them to mod your mortgage......THEY DID! I wish I could save 1 to 3% on my mortgage! Its people like you that make it hard on the rest of us!!! I would tell people to HIRE MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE GROUP! As a matter of fact.....I will.
