Motel 8 Lakeside INN ripoff consumer rip-off fraud ripoff thieves Heth, Arkansas
It was raining hard and foggy on May 3,2002.
We saw a sign for the only motel off the exit on RT 30.
Normally, this would be a tip-off of price gouging, but
with the weather being so bad we stopped.
We were on our way back from Fort Worth Texas after
visiting my daughter and taking her car to her at
the Air-Navy base. She's enlisted to the US Navy.
We came from Youngstown,Ohio.
Staying at some motels going down, the price was good.
It's off season. Motel 8-Lakeside Inn in Heth Ark was $60.00 for one room. It was dirty.(we couldn't use the shower.) No cable.
No extras. We talked to another guest who only paid $30.00
We saw on our reciept the next day they charged us x2 $30.00. The man in the office's only comment was, "$60.00, that's the cost.
You paid by credit card so its to late. So sue us. You're
not from here, so it'll cost more to sue us than $60.00.
So,as we only had 1 dirty room,we were charged twice.
The next day, we barely could get our truck out of its space.
People were doubled and tripled park to get close to their
room. Thank God,there wasn't a fire. A truck couldn't get it.
