Mountain Area Communications Screwed me over!!! Sneedville, Tennessee
In Dec. 2006 this company called me offering me 60 months of "free" magazines, and all I had to do was pay the shipping and handling a one time fee of $29.90. I was also supposed to recieve a free watch, and a $500 shopping spree.
So like a moron I gave them my card info, and they started taking the "payments" out of my account. I called to cancel and they said I couldn't because my order had already been proccessed. So I argued with them and they reduced my payments to $19.90 a month, I let it go because I knew I screwed up.
So any ways fast forward to now. For the past 3 or 4 months they have been calling me and trying to get me to pay my remaining balance all at once for a "5%" discount, and I always tell them no because I can't afford any more than what I already pay, with a baby how could I?
Yesterday I checked my balance on my card to make sure my transactions had gone through, and my available balance was $0.00!! Those greedy people took all of the money I had! Without my permission!!!! I had already paid the $19.90 that I owed them for the month!!! And I called again to check my balance this morning to see if anything had changed, and It had, they refunded my $19.90, but they took a total of $88.65 from my account the day before. I tried to have my bank stop the pending transaction from going through and they said they couldn't do that.
I tried to call the office but (of course) they were closed. So now I have to wait untill their next business day to take action. Oh and one more thing, the magazines that I'm supposed to get for 60 months are now sending me letters that my subscription is about to expire and they want me to renew my subscription, and it has only been 18 of my 60 months! What is wrong with that picture? (another number for this company is (877)279-6354)
