This at the retail level at this shop with assistant manager- Justin, manager -Jessie and at corporate level with district manager -Steve Scowary . They claim - "They are not responsible" - lucky no one was hurt.  Any tire flying off a car is serious for everybody and anybody that would have been near.  We will be looking into legal ramifications.

My son took his car to this shop to switch summer tires to winter tires. The shop is around the corner from us. I was shocked because he had a problem before with them. He said, "I thought it would be a simple job." He took his car, an Expedition, in at noon. His appointment was at noon.   We are a block away so he went on about his day with the intention of picking the car up later.

Hours had gone by when they call (the only time they called) to say they needed more time. They were having a hard time getting some bolts off.  My son went up there.  He saw the drivers side with the winter tires on and the other side with the original tires still on.  After speaking to the asst. manager, my son was told they wanted to keep the car until the next day so the master tech could look at it.

The next day, my son called about 12:00pm and was told the car would be ready in an hour and Mr. Tire would call.   He called about 1:30 pm and was told they would call him. Three hours passed, Mr. Tire was closing at five o'clock.  We arrived about 4:35pm and the car was in the same position with the tires exactly as they had been the day before. The assistant was arrogant and unconcerned.  Since, I took my son to Mr. Tire because of the weather I was a witness.

There were others in the waiting room who witnessed the conversation about all the time they took working on the car.    The manager went on about the time and special torque tools and size of the rims. I became upset because he is sprouting all this information and had the car for two days but never said they cannot do the job.  At fifteen minutes to closing my son told them to return his car.  He had to go to work the next day. Note: they did not give him a receipt.

In ten minutes, they drove the car around to the front and handed him the keys - along with a pitch to buy new tires. We left at least thinking the car was safe.  One would expect that a tire shop could have put the tires back on in a safe manner.  We were wrong!  Tuesday while driving on a public street the tire came off.  The same side that the winter tires had been on.  Lucky my son hear a noise and slowed down and pulled over to the side as the tire fell.  A tow truck had to be call to remove the car and tow it to the nearest gas station.

I had called Mr. Scowaryon  on Monday as well as Jesse, the manager, to complain about our treatment and the lack of customer service.  The manager at least apologized for the treatment and time they kept the car.  Mr. Scowary never bothered to return my call.  On Tuesday after the tire fell off , he did call with all kinds of excuses, "They said they never touched the car", "we are not responsible" and "the lugs were the wrong size."

The lug business was when they sent someone to look at the car after it was towed.  Some lugs had to be put on the car to be towed or the rims would have bent; we were lucky there was an assortment in the car.   What is most shocking is that they would do some work and let a customer go out the door with such poor workmanship that a tire would fly off a car.  The company felt they did nothing wrong.
