We thought we were getting this great cruise for 2 after buying some cookware and knifes from Celebrity China and Crystal, PO BOX 14070, Lenexa, KS 66285-4070 (800-729-6346). We bought over $1700 worth of merchandise (which we were not allowed to return & are now stuck with by the way) because we thought it would average out with this cruise.
We have never been on a cruise & knew nothing about what questions to ask before we agreed to all of this. Anyway...to make a long story a little shorter...
The cruise only included a couple of bunk beds...for a honeymoon...I don't think so. I asked how much would we have to add to get a regular bed. We were told $899!!! I looked up the SAME EXACT CRUISE online & found it for between $761 and $880...including the cabin with an actual bed!
I called MVI back & asked why I was being charged more to updgrade than what it would cost to just go out & buy a better cruise....they had no answer & just offered to send back our $200 deposit.
That would be fine if we could also return our $1700 (plus) merchandise we had to agree to buy in order to get the cruise...but Celebrity China & Crystal will not let us return it.

NOTE: Rip-off Report launched a complete investigation on this particular situation and found that Mini Vacations had no control over promises another company makes when marketing their vacation coupons. Even though Mini Vacations is not responsible for another company's actions, they have been giving FULL refunds to anyone who has contacted them, and has even given more than they should have in the name of good customer service

MVI Travel Agency is a separate company from Mini Vacations/MVI Marketing. Unfortunately, we used be be under one company although we have been operating separate for almost 3 years.
What the complaint is refering to is a "Free Cruise Certificate". All "certifictes are handled by MVI Marketing. It is my understanding that for a while they were using letterhead with MVI Travel. Once the discovery was made they stopped.
MVI Travel is a retain travel agency and should be confused with MVI Marketing!
