Both companies charged my checking account and I can't find them on the internet to see whats going on. It comes up,MWI*Valuemax and MWI*Homeworks on my statement,at $14.95 each. I'm disable and can not afford to have any money disappear like that.

They are still out there, so CHANGE ALL YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBERS!

#2Consumer Suggestion

Mon, August 18, 2003

If they already thieved money out of your account twice, it would be no surprise for them to steal again. This is why it is so important for you to change all of your numbers. Then make it clear to your bank, in writing, that you want no charges from them placed on your account. They will say "ACH" charges cannot be located or specified, until the processing for them has cleared and withdrawn money from your account. This measure is necessary for you in the process of building a potential case file. It depends on how long this might continue, and the amount continually taken from you. You have to keep a record of everything. I want to give you some background information on their website Registration profile. This comes from the ARIN WHOIS database, updated August 16, 2003. Certain link information is locked to prevent spamming and hacker attacks to the specifice site. This is not an automatic for every website Registrant. WWW.VALUEMAX.COM is the online Registrant for MWI*Homeworks. Their Network ID is 1#. Org name: Everyones Internet, Inc. OrgID: EVRY Address: 2600 Southwest Frwy., Suite 500 City: Huoston State: TX Zip code: 77098 Tech Name: Randy Williams Tech Phone: 1-713-400-5400 The network being separate has expired this past month, but they still might have more contact information available, in their records. Don't know if they would be decent enought to help you, but at least you can try. The domain name is : valuemax.com This is the address for the Registrant contact, Technical, Administrative and Billing: Motherboards.com DNS Admin: [email protected] 1-979-778-0173 or FAX: 1-253-563-2251 Address: 4980 Dilly Shaw Tap Road State: TX Zip: 77808 This address may very well be for security purposed. This site is the "middle man", who determines your intentions prior to confronting them. This information "Status: is protected. To help prevent domain hijacks and transfer errors." (from whois database) MWI stands for Member Works Incorporated. They claim to provide discount offers and services to its members. They claim to provide 100% to wholesale buyers and telemarketers. It is possible they see you as being a wholesale buyer. They claim to have a "no questions asked refund policy". Now we move on to GOVERNMENT ACTION: "On September 18, 2000, the New York Attorney General announced MemberWorks settled allegations of telemarketing abuses. Using information provided by Citibank, it is the largest client, and other major finacial institutions. They offered a free 30-day trial membership...to conumers who accepted the free trial, but the members did not know Members Works had their credit card numbers. Other consumers had unauthorized withdrawals on their accounts, so without admitting liability, they agreed to pay $1.5 million dollars in civil penalties and costs. Here are a list of alias names to look for while you monitor withdrawals from any given account: 24 Assist, Business Max, Card Protect Plus, Deal Time, Galleria, Lifestyles Rewards, Main Street Savings, Money Master, MWI, Quick Assist, Simply You, The Market Plaza, Travel Arrangements, Travel Source, Value Max, Victoria's Secret Escapes, Victoria's Secret Home, Visual Basics, Vital Health Club. Sorry I had to run you throught that long list, but when you block them through one name, they might change to another. If you would like to review this report yourself access: http://www.heartland.bbb.org/ They are members. In addition, the BBB warns they can change the information any time, because they are weasels that way. (OK the weasel part is mine) Here is another address, which would apply more to refund collecting: Member Works Incorporated, 9500 W Dodge Rd, Omaha, NE, 68114, Phone: 1-402-661-2000. They've been in business since 1989. Your Primary contact is: Mr. George Vogel, and Customer Relations contact: Ms. Sue Gardener You can also contact them through [email protected] There is a Class Action Lawsuit right now, but for the State of California. The EDitor made a Report with more details, if you're interested. Access: Category: Corrupt Companies or just use the link to MWI, and you'll find the information there. Hope this helps.
