Just noticed a charge on my account tonight (8-7-2003). Called the bank, tried to call the company. Found this website while on the phone with the bank, and began reading some of the posts.

My bank is now going to file fraud charges against MWI on my behalf, thanks in large part to all of the information I found on www.ripoffreport.com. Luckily, we weren't taken for as much as some of the posters here were, but that doesn't make it ok for any company to steal for goods or services that were never ordered or requested.

The only place we can think of where they could have gotten our information is BMG Music. That is the only online purchase we have ever made. Good luck to all who have been victims of these crooks, and may they all have severe car failure on the expressway in the middle of rush hour!!!

MWI Refund

#2Consumer Suggestion

Fri, September 05, 2003

I had a charge on my credit card from MWI Simple Escapes. There was a number associated with this company and I immediately contacted them. The gal was pleasant to deal with, but kept asking me to try their services and I kept responding that they got my information through fraud, and unless the charges were reversed I would notify my state's attorney general. She agreed to refund the charges, but said it might take two billing cycles. Then I contacted my credit card company and reported these charges as fraud. They agreed to investigate, and today I received a letter from Capital One stating that the charges had been reversed, as a credit had been issued to my account by MWI Simple Escapes. My point is that you must persue this through the original creditor and your credit card company. Don't let them get away with these fraudulent charges! A file with your state's attorney general couldn't hurt.
