NAPSR's response to the fact that they have stolen the content for their "training program" is that if the complaint came from someone who is not a member it could not be valid. That does not change the fact that NAPSR did, indeed, rip-off content in their book from various resources published long before NAPSR was in existence (NAPSR only started in September 2003). In fact, NAPSR's comment to one author was something like "we had a consultant write the book, and we didn't know that consultant ripped off almost 100 pages of text identical to the content in your book." Who was that consultant? And is that any excuse? Selling regurgitated information to unwitting consumers is wrong, unethical, and illegal. At least three copyright owners have confirmed that their text was used by NAPSR without consent. Anyone who spends a penny with NAPSR is fueling a criminal. It's just too bad they haven't been convicted...yet.

assume that people unhappy with your product, are the competition? That is what this website is for, for people to post their experiences with certain companies. I do not work for anything pharma related, or even health care. I am the girlfriend of a gentleman trying to break into the industry. The truth is, this certification does absolutely nothing to help you get hired. About 75% of pharma reps got in through a referral anyways. The other 25% impressed a DM. This is what it is all about-finding the right DM that likes you can impress. Again this is a very competitive industry and you have to have sharp interview, presentation, and sales skills to even be considered to move on to the next stage of the hiring practice. There are several good books out there that can help you, invest in those instead of NAPSR.
