National Fitness Ladies Premiere Fitness Illegally talked my minor child into a 3 year contract by using her grandmothers signature and my child's bank card Kettering, Ohio
My 16 year old daughter was visiting her grandmother, (who is an existing member of Ladies Premier Fitness in Kettering, Ohio) while there they decided to spend time together by working out. The sales rep said that my daughter was not old enough to workout as a visitor - BUT - if she joined the club that would be okay.
The sales rep signed my daughter to a 3 year contract using her bank card for automatic withdrawals. Since my daughter was only 16 at the time the sales rep told the grandmother that she would HAVE to sign. She did not tell the grandmother that she was actually taking financial responsibility for the minors account.
They were told that if she (my daughter) moved 25 miles away from the club that the membership could be cancelled. My daughter told them that she lived with her parents in Chattanooga, TN and that she would be returning there shortly. NEVERMIND, if you want to workout today, you'll have to join. NOTE: We also own a home in Seaman, Ohio which also falls under the 25 mi. radius. But we live in Chattanooga, TN.
So, the daughter is back with us and I called the # given. WELL, the cancellation is NOT as easy as they were lead to believe.
I was told that I had to fax PROOF that Taylor no longer lived in the Dayton, Ohio area. Now tell me what 16 year old is going to have a signed lease agreement or a utility bill in their name? As I explained to Kyle at National Fitness. He was short and stuck to his script. If you can't prove that Taylor lives in Chattanooga you'll have to pay for the contract.
Back and forth I've gone round and round. I've faxed OUR lease agreement showing that we are in Chatt, TN. without resolving the issue.
As others have reported you are not ALLOWED to speak with a supervisor. Those answering the calls are trained very well. We have been threatened with credit collections.
I have contacted Channel 2 - Turn to 2 and asked if they would be interested in investigating the unethical practices of this/these clubs.
My suggestion to ANYONE, minor or adult - think twice before entering one of these clubs. They're complete scam artists.
