We had some hail damage to our house on 7/6/2003. A sales rep from NRSI contacted us to repair our siding and roof. We signed a contract with them on 8/14/2003 to work with our insurance company to fix the damage on our home. On 11/6/2003 our insurance company, Safeco, finally sent a check for $7591.75, half of the cost to replace the roof and siding. We signed another contract with NRSI, to replace 3 windows and convert one patio door into a window. We signed the check from the insurance over to them. Today is 7/17/2004 and we are still waiting to have our house repaired. They came and did the roof in November 2003. The job is very poor quality. I left for work around 7 AM and when I returned at 12:30 PM for lunch, the roof had been replaced. This included a tear off. They did the job in about four hours, except for the shed. That took another month for them to come and finish that.

We finally got the windows delivered 6/28/2004. Almost a year after the damage happened. We were told some one in their Northbrook IL office was stealing, and never ordered the windows. That office has since been closed, and now we are dealing with the office in Romeoville IL. We were told they would start our house on 6/28/2004, but then called on 6/25/2004 around 4 PM and said the contractor could not do it then, he was out of town. Then they were to start on Friday 7/9/2004, but some woman, I think the contractor's wife said the transmission on the truck broke as they were going to get the foam board, and they could not start now.

The NRSI agent, Chris , said they would start Saturday, 7/17/2004 for sure. My husband called Chris 7/16/2004, and she said "Scott one of the owners of the company is going to call you in 5 mins". He never called. My husband caller her back on Friday, and said he never called. She said he was suppose to call and talk to you. "All I want to know". my husband said, "are they going to start my house tomorrow". "No, said Chris, "The contractor is out of town" My husband said "Fine" and hung up the phone. Now my husband is doing the work Chris should be doing, trying to find some one who would do the siding and install the windows. The problem we found out is they only want to pay $85.00 a square, the average rate for this kind of work in this area is $120.00 to $150.00 a square! Now I find out the pile of siding that has been setting in the driveway since Nov. 2003 is infested with mice! My neighbors are getting ticked off, and I can't say I can blame them. Please someone help us.

I was a manager for National Restoration Specialists, Inc. (NRSI) for about four years. I managed offices in Omaha, NE, Amelia, VA and Norfolk, VA. I was also production manager in Omaha and Amelia. The offices where I was in charge of production had no problems because we made sure the work was completed to everyone's satisfaction. The problems started to surface in the Norfolk office where NRSI set up an operation to deal with the damage from Hurricane Isabel. I left the company several months later when it became evident the work was not getting done in spite of daily calls to the main office as to the location of the many crews that were on their way. I stopped hiring salespeople because I could not look them in the eye and tell them everything was OK. The deposits were being collected and the work was not getting done. Since this is my home town I could not abide the treatment of the customers. I quit with $60,000 being owed me, much of it personal expenditures to keep the office open. We did not even have a checkbook in the office, everything was paid out of the main office in Bowie. Mr. Rick Pirozzi, the owner of NRSI is completing a 13 month federal prison sentence for 'diverting' almost one-half million dollars in deposits for his own use. I was a witness for the prosecution as can be verified by contacting Mr. Alan Salisbury, the federal prosecutor in Norfolk, VA. I was never accused of any wrongdoing and was one of the star witnesses. The ghost of NRSI continues to haunt me as I recently had a prospective employer question my past as a result of a ripoff report that named me as an office manager. There were no problems in my offices and I am not named in any of the justifiable ripoff reports as one of the bad guys. Thanks Rick.

Scott Stangle claims to be an innocent subcontractor but I have filed my own report about him. He ripped me off for 1200.00 dollars I earned as a subcontractor for him. Dogs lie together!

I understand he is the manager of a mold specialist company. I could be wrong. But it seems NRSI took it upond themselves to list his company as part of their own. If that is the case then he should not be listed here.

Safeco ripped up off too!!!! on the same claim

In Aug 2004 my husband told me he was going to side the house himself. He told his job he needed 2 weeks off to side the house. The insurance company Safeco had not paid all of the claim. There was still $6000.00 allowed on the claim. My husband decided since he couldn't get NRSI to do the work he would do it himself. I too took off of work to help him. I hung the Tyvek and the foam board and he nailed on the siding. I also washed the siding before we hung it. After setting in the drive for one year it was very dirty. We had to buy a power washer too to get it clean on our expense. As we were doing the work the mail man came to us with a certifed letter. The supply company ABC supply was putting a lien on our house! because NRSI had not paid for the materials. The same stuff in the pictures that had been setting in our drive for a year. Well I must say ABC Supply is a much better company. The woman we worked with told us that if we could prove we paid NRSI for the materials they would not put a lien on the house. Luckily I saved every document I had from them. I had a receipt signed by Terry Frank. Please note it was just a paper with there name on it and the BBB symbol(see the fraud comments from the BBB above). ABC accepted the proof and removed the lien. A few days later we finally got a call from NRSI. It seems the windows we had ordered were not included in the down payment. The man stated we owed NRSI $1000.00! My husband who is very mild and gentle went off on the guy. Told him he was not paying one cent to him. The he proceded to tell him how we were siding our house ourselves, and that we was loosing $1000.00 a week in pay. The man stated he was going to close the books on this job. Ya think? my husband said. It took us three weeks to finish the house. We had to ask our employers for another week off. I am over 50 years old this was no small job to me. My husband is very handy but it was a difficult job for him too. We finished it the Saturday before Labor day. It was finally over. The following monday I got a call from some contractor. He stated NRSI hired him to do our siding. I told him there was no work here for him, and to tell NRSI they were never to bother me again. After we went throug all this I submitted the receipts to Safeco Insurance for the remainder of the claim. They only paid us $3000.00. They stated because we did the job ourselves they would not pay us what they would pay a contractor. They paid us for some the added materials we had to buy, and $10.00 an hour for our labor. The adjuster Karel Mienhart said since we weren't contractors so we didn't have the overhead they do. I told him it took us three weeks of work 7 days a week, 12-14 hour days. He said that it didn't matter. A contractor would have had the job done in 2-3, 8 hour days. So he could not pay us for all three weeks. All I can say is never do business with NRSI, and if you have SAFECO insurance cancel it and go with State Farm. If you have SAFECO insurance and you get Karel Mienhart for the adjuster, you will be ripped off. I hope someday Mr Mienhart needs something from me. I will spit in his face. If you see him please do the same.

I was NEVER A MANAGER OR AN EMPLOYEE OF THIS COMPANY - I ONLY HAD A SUBCONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP. My only affiliation with the company reported in this document was as a SUBCONTRACTOR out of their office in Bowie, MD. As a licensed subcontractor, I was responsible for coordinating repairs that were approved by insurance companies for storm damage to properties. When this company started to have financial problems and could not pay for my services, I ceased my relationship with the company IN MARCH 2003. I had to hire an attorney to sue this company for the money they owned me. I had several previous customers call me to check the status of their repairs. I told them I was no longer involved with the company and that they should file a claim with the BBB and the MHIC. I do not know why this company listed me a manager of their Mold Office, however, I was NEVER a manager, nor would have wanted to be manager for this company, and I have never even seen the "Mold" office shown in the report. For a short period of time (less than 6 months), this company carried me on their health insurance plan. The plan was cancelled by the company. This is the only reason that I can think of as to why they would list me as a manager. I was NEVER A MANAGER OR AN EMPLOYEE - I ONLY HAD A SUBCONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP. The report in this document also makes reference to a "Scott" in regard to work done in Illinois. I do not know what this "Scott's" last name is, but it is not me as I never worked in any location but Maryland. I would like this website to remove my name from this report as it is falsely reported. I do agree that this is a dishonest company because of how they treated me. We are providing you with this letter of information so that we may protect our reputation and good name and so that you may protect yourself and your home for the insurance restoration work that you contracted for. National Restoration Specialists Inc. is not doing business in the state of Arizona.

Last summer there were several large thunderstorms that created large hail and wind damage in your neighborhoods. National Restoration Specialists Inc. specializes in helping home owners in storm damaged areas process their claims for a full and fair settlement with their insurance companies, so the home owner can have the proper repairs done on their homes. When the storms of last summer hit your area National Restoration Specialists Inc. entered the Phoenix market in conjunction with Patrick Hicks as our project manager. Patrick Hicks is the owner of RAH Renovations Inc., a licensed installation contractor located in Mesa AZ. Mr. Hicks, after being hired to be the project manager to over see the installation of the jobs in your neighborhood, chose to change the name of his company to RAH Renovations Inc. dba, (doing business as) National Restoration Specialists. This was done without the consent or agreement of National Restoration Specialists Inc. Over the Christmas holiday season Mr. Hicks absconded with all of the files and information on all of the customers in Phoenix AZ. Your contract agreement is with RAH Renovations dba National Restoration Specialists. We assume that Patrick Hicks at RAH Renovations will fully service and handle all of your concerns in regards to your contract with RAH Renovations dba National Restoration Specialists.
