On 9/8/13 my 2013 car was involved in an accident.  It was entirely the other party's fault.  First I was given a claims rep who didn't know how to do her job and could not answer any of the questions I asked her.  She kept telling me to call Farmers (the other partys insurance company).  The adjuster who looked at the car didn't return phone calls.  When they finally declared it totaled they passed me on to another claims rep who put a stop payment on my claims check after he issued it.  Another claims rep apparently instructed him to do so, but never communicated to me in any way other than a letter to say she was the one going after Farmers to recoup the money.

On 10/3 they issued a check to Toyota to pay off the loan and another to me.  On 10/16 my bank notified me that a stop payment had been applied to the check.  I had already purchased a new vehicle and was counting on that check to cover the downpayment check I had written that the dealership was holding onto.  It was a $5000 check.  I contacted the claims rep who issued the check and was given two different stories about why the stop payment was issued.  Neither was correct.  At one point he said State Farm was paying me.  The other party's insurance was Farmers.  State Farm wasn't even involved.  They finally admitted they made a mistake and first said they would overnight a replacement check.  That never happened.  They then said they would do an EFT to my bank.  It's been 4 days and my bank still has yet to receive anything.  No one at Nationwide is returning my calls or emails and even my local agent won't help me out.  I'm now out $5000 and may never get my claim money from Nationwide and I'm bouncing checks because I had anticipated that $5000 being in my bank account to cover the downpayment check.
