NCO took money out of my account twice, once from a check by phone that "Philip" had destroyed and once by use of my debit card over the phone. The check ended up clearing AND two days later I call my bank to find out that I am overdrawn! They had also taken the debit.

I thought maybe since the check cleared they hadn't bothered with the debit. I called him just today and he gave me the runaround for FOUR HOURS! Sending me calling my bank asking for absurd account statements and such. He even had me believing that my bank wasn't treating me like they should.

All I wanted is my $192 in NSF fees caused by their lack of buisness ethics! I finally called him back and began telling him that it was his companys' fault and why should I be out money that my family desperatly needs. I was in the middle of explaning how tired I was of this and he very rudely cut me off muttering something about putting me on hold, AND DID!

He came backon about 3 minutes later growling at me about how his supervisor went ahead and authorized have a nice day good-bye. I barely had enough time to say okay.

I called Capital One and they said that the account had been charged off and, yes the account was being handled by NCO. What does charged off mean? I read on one of these reports that whether I pay or not now it won't even help my husbands' and I credit. Is this true??
