I have been getting several voice mails a day (4-5) from NCO. They are all during the day when I am not at home to answer the phone. All my bills are paid and there is no evidence of identity theft on my credit reports.

The voice mails identify them and then go on to say that they are attempting to collect a debt. I have received nothing in the mail from them and do not owe anyone any kind of outstanding balance. From what I understand this voice mail is illegal as they are not supposed to say they are debt collectors on a voice mail that they do not know who owns it.

My outgoing message is the general one with just the phone number but no names at all.
How do I get them to stop?

How to stop collection agency harassment for a debt that is not yours:  -
\Send the collection agency a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt (do NOT use regular mail) stating:

Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, cease all communications with me about this alleged debt. This is not my debt. Receipt of this letter is officially being time stamped via Certified Mail. I will pursue each subsequent phone call from your office with a $1,000 per incident penalty for Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violations -----------------------------

If they keep calling, read the following statement to them:

Pursuant to state law, be advised that this call is being recorded. If you do not consent to being recorded, you need to terminate this call. Continuation of this phone call after officially being informed that it is being recorded implies consent to be recorded. This recording will be used to pursue Fair Debt Collection Practice Act violations in a court of law.
